CHAPTER THIRTEEN: Somebody who barely knew me knows me.

Talia Cambridge

Our order of mango, strawberry, and low-fat mint ice cream slid across our table, I couldn’t stop to notice how cute the waiter was. Was it wrong to think like this even if I’m in a relationship? Am I even in a relationship? It would be technically called cheating, but Chris is running around revealing his tight butt with a bunch of prissy girly teenagers with short skirts and-

“Talia, I think we lost her in her train of thought.” Natalie said smugly. She scooped her mango ice cream in a way that made her look adorable. The boy with the soft features smiled and waved. He had really dark hair and the eyes of a blue sky.

“Sorry, what?” he smiled which revealed a smile that kind of threw me off. It had chips in the front tooth. He probably was either a struggling wannabe skater or a troublemaker.

“Would you like to pay now or later?” he asked. It revealed a really squeaky noise.

“I’ll pay now. I’ll even add an even larger tip for you to fix your teeth and hun, you look about eighteen, shouldn’t your voice be stable by now?”’ I stated. Sam laughed and Nat showed a grin. The boy blushed and gave the receipt and left as soon as possible. I felt superior again.

For these past days, I think I lost it. I lost my sense of superiority. It was probably because I was scared for most parts, but they know who I am and I should be feared. It honestly felt kind of good. Just the feeling of knowing that they cannot control me is different. I’m always being controlled by my family, but maybe this time I could be in control, a leader. I was already the president, I could expand my horizons.

“So, who’s in and who’s out?” Natalie asked. She pulled out my clipboard I gave her in the beginning of the year. There was a list of girls who were very eager to sit with us. It wasn’t a signup sheet or anything, but someone was desperate enough to make their own website for list of worthy people.

“Sally Pierce; I think she’s an in. She has some decent style at times, she’s definitely loyal since she created the site, and she is partially related to the boys.” Sam knew these things. Even if she wasn’t the brightest bulb in our group, she is a big use to us, and maybe the fact that we love her enormously. “Kelly Anton; She’s an out for me. I can’t handle her, she hovers everywhere, and I heard she made out with Nate after you guys broke up.” She added. Kelly. I’ve heard that rumour, but I never actually got to know if it was true, pretty gutsy I think. I put her down on the maybe of my list.

“Bridget Albertson. I saw her hanging around you on the council listing. She’s pretty decent.” Natalie put up. She actually looked serious. That same girl was the cheerleader who had her arms around Chris. Why in heavens name would I let her in? I’d never tell the girls I felt threatened.

“Isn’t she a senior?” I asked innocently.

“I never knew we couldn’t add seniors. She was the one who put up her name on the site anyway. I think it’s kind of desperate, but hey, fashion is good, brain is good, and she did nothing wrong anyway.” I slammed my hands on the table. I forgot we were in a public place. Many eyes all looked at me. I also felt Natalie and Samantha flinch. Their eyes were widened.

“We cannot have her in.” I simply stated. Natalie crooked her brow and grinned.

“Oh, was she that chick with Chris at the last council meeting?” She asked. She was still eating her ice cream and not looking at me.

“I do not care. We just cannot have a red headed, dumb cheerleader in.” I stressed out every word.

“Whatever, I was just suggesting. I never knew Talia could ever feel threatened.” She used that tone of voice that drove me crazy.
