"Nii-san!" the younger girl cheered for her brother and best friend from the stalls, waving her hands up in the air to catch their attention. "You did amazing, nii-san! You too Izumi-kun!"
Oikawa Tooru and Iwaizumi Hajime grinned back proudly at her, making peace signs so that the woman next to the young girl could take a photo. The excited cheers of the team and the chatters of the crowd enveloped the area as the Kitagawa Daiichi volleyball team won the Inter High. It was a very rare occurrence, and Iwaizumi and Oikawa were the only first years on the court playing alongside their upperclassmen.
At the last moment, the official setter had injured his ankle and Oikawa — out of all the setters in the club, as he boasted proudly multiple times — was chosen to be his substitute for the match.
Hayami ran, pushing through the crowd and enveloped her cousin in a hug. With a laugh, he hugged her back. Oikawa Tooru was rarely one to show his real emotions, but winning a match definitely did it.
"Izumi-kun was so cool!" Hayami gushed, jumping into the air and making a hand motion which resembled a spike. "It went all... bam!"
"Speak clear Japanese Hayami," Iwaizumi chuckled, but even he couldn't get rid of the big smile appearing over his face. After years and years of continuous practice, they somehow managed to win.
Dinner that night was at Oikawa Tooru's house, with both Iwaizumi's and Hayami's family invited to celebrate the victory. As the adults retreated towards the balcony with drinks in their hands, the three children were left behind in the living room, groaning in pain and clutching their stomach.
"I.. I ate too much again."
"I feel like my stomach is gonna explode.."
"Both of you... shut up."
Oikawa Tooru turned towards them after a few minutes of silence, using his elbow as a means to prop himself up. "Wanna do something fun?"
Hayami's ears perked up and a hopeful grin formed on her face. "What about-"
"No."
"I didn't even say anything nii-san!" she scowled.
"I'm not playing basketball with you," he confirmed with an eye roll.
"That's because you suck!"
He scoffed. "Why don't you try playing volleyball then?"
"I do and you know it!"
Iwaizumi's jaw twitched with irritation at the bickering cousins and he finally removed his arm resting on top of his eyes, an imminent scowl present on his face. "Both of you shut the hell up!"
Hayami stopped immediately with a pout, looking away and Oikawa took the chance to irritate her.
"You shut up as soon as Iwa-chan talks," he teased with a smug smile. "Perhaps Haya-chan likes Iwa-chan a bit too — urk — get off me Haya-chan!"
She pulled his cheeks harshly, making sure to restrain his every move before scowling. A big blush, however, was adorning her cheeks. "TAKE THAT BACK!"
"Ger' off meee!"
Just then, Hayami's phone rang with a loud call and Iwaizumi looked questioningly towards her phone. It blinked with an incoming call and he could vaguely make out a single name, as it continued vibrating on the ground.
