Shibayama let out a curse under his breath, as he did another sit up. Hayami walked between the boys, counting each time they went down and came up. They had to do sixty of those, twice of what they'd been doing before she came. The cruel manager also added a few more stretches and added push ups as well. Then there was the dreaded exercise.
Pool.
It had an innocent name, sounded fun actually but in reality it was complete torture. They had to do sit ups within water and jumping exercises too. With how dense water was compared to air, it was obvious that the boys were finding it difficult to do so. At least she took pity on them and reduced the number of exercises there.
Perhaps they would've been more thrilled and motivated if she walked around supervising them in her underwear as Yamamoto and Kuroo suggested with leery grins on their faces.
At that, Hayami stilled and left Coach Naoi to supervise them instead, much to their disappointment.
"If you hadn't suggested that, she could've still been here! With clothes, but still!"
"I didn't know she'd leave. Give me a break!"
Kenma face planted on to the ground, not being able to take it anymore. She walked quickly towards him, a bottle of water and towel appearing mysteriously in her hands.
"Do you want to stop?" She asked quietly.
He nodded his head, too tired to even talk as she let out a sigh, circling something in her seat. Kai gave up as the others continued, turning to look towards the duo. His face was sent in a slight frown seeing their precious setter on the verge of fainting. They could take it, but Kenma had lower stamina then all of them and that worried the vice captain greatly.
As if sensing his worried and slightly angry gaze, Hayami turned to face Kai. "Ask it. I know you all want to."
"Is this really helping us? Or are you just torturing us?"
"Kai!" Yaku hissed, turning apologetically to the manager. She waved his half apology away gesturing everyone to stop and get up.
"Its been three weeks since I started training you guys," She spoke, walking towards the wall and placing her hand on it. The boys recognized their respective names on the wall, each one of their names written next to the distance jumped. "Its obvious you don't trust me and frankly, neither do I." She stated blankly.
"I don't know how well this will even work on you. So before we proceed.. Kuroo," Hayami turned her gaze to the stoic captain. "Could you jump the highest you can over here and see how much you've improved?"
He nodded once, taking a few steps back before running at full speed ahead and jumped, successfully leaving a mark on the walls before he jumped down. The curious members gathered around the new place where Kuroo had left a footprint and Hayami marked it with a sharpie, waving away their worries. "I'll clean this up later."
Inuoka compared the two jumps, one before and one after before he let out a startled sigh. "Are you kidding me?! That's a whole lotta improvement what the hell?"
"Seriously? That's like.. eight whole centimeters!" Lev gestured wildly towards the wall before looking at a smug Kuroo who laughed gleefully.
"Looks like those extra rounds actually paid off."
