Ezra was thinking hardly on how to answer her question.
„I thought we were a couple. Although we are legally still married, I know that we should keep things slow. What do you think?"
„I love you Ezra and I will never stop loving you, but I won't stay with you, if you act overly possessive and don't let me live in freedom. I know that you don't see that as such, but your actions hurt me." ,Ciara answered. She had tears in her eyes. Ezra was surprised by her statement, although he knew that his behaviour led to their seperation. „I know that I act foolishly due to my jealousy sometimes and I am sorry. I wished I could promise you that I will not act like that again, but I will try to change in order to make this relationship work. I am sorry for hurting you.", Ezra uttered. „Why do you get so jealous, though? Do I give you a reason to act that way? I only love you and will never betray you." Ciara was shaking. It was so easy to say sorry and walk away, but your scars will remain. Ezra was dumbfounded. He knew that what she said was true. She would never betray him. It was just that he knew that he was lacking something. After all these years, he still thought that someone better than him might catch his little angel away from him. „I don't feel like I am enough. I mean... I know you love me and I love you too. I need you. However, I sometimes think about how other men might see you being so lovely as well and I feel like I am no match for them.", he muttered. Ezra couldn't look into her eyes. He could feel Ciara hugging him. „Who said that you aren't? You are Ezra. My Ezra. I decided to love you for you, not because you fit a checklist." Ezra hugged her closer. „I am sorry for hurting you because of my insecurities.", he whispered. Ezra started crying as well. Although both of them were crying and holding onto each other, it felt like a heavy burden was finally lifted off of them. They finally talked about their issues. Now they just had to work it out.
