A/N: Hey guys I know it's been ages since I last updated and I truly appreciate your patience. Just as a warning, I will not be "censoring" the swearing any longer, to be honest it throws me off track a bit when I have to go back and edit it. I've had a few request to make this a little more R rated but I would appreciate feedback on this part. The sound of my phone blaring at 4:45 am is something I have grown accustomed to over the last few months. Katrina has decided to come for jogs with me every morning to ensure that I actually go. We've gotten pretty close over the past 6 months, so close that she's been invited to my parents 35th wedding anniversary. I'm with her almost daily due to my contract with York realty and today is the semi annual renewal of said contract.

The ringing of my phone snaps me out of my thoughts. "Hey T, I hope your lazy ass is up", it's of course Katrina, did I mention she's crazy, like who enjoys waking someone up at the asscrack of dawn?

"Hey Kat, I'm awake I'm awake, I'll meet you at the elevator in 5"

"Dealssss"

We start up our jog at a medium pace, she begins talking about my parents party that's tomorrow night, asking the usual what to wear, who will be there and how drunk she can get. I love this girl to death but I'm pretty sure she has a bit of a drinking problem.

"Soooo, I'm bringing Xav with me. Now that I know there will be lots of eligible bachelorettes he has to come" Kat states while waiting for my reaction.

I'd be lying if I didn't say my heart dropped a bit with the ending of her statement but I know that I'm not willing to get involved with him so why can't anyone else. "Ohhh, ok ya that's a good idea."

"T just admit that you have it bad for my brother, everyone sees it but you. The feeling is mutual in case you were wondering." Kat says while chuckling

"I'm just not interested in getting involved with anyone Kat, yes your brother is built like a Greek God but I just can't do it" I reply sheepishly.

"You need to get over your fears one day T, you can't work forever and eventually loneliness will take over and you'll be left with 'what if'". She's being 100% serious for once and she sounds just like everyone else in my life.

"You know me Kat, I've been on a million dates since I've known you and not one has worked out, I think I'm just destined to be alone and I'm ok with that"

"Tamika Ann, you've been dating all the wrong guys, I'll fix that for you soon enough." Kat said with a smile as she sprinted back to the apartment building.

This is going to end up bad, I can already feel it.

As I'm getting ready for another excruciatingly busy day my phone goes off.

Kaleb: Tamtam, you'll be at your parents anniversary tomorrow right? If it was anyone else I know they would show up but knowing you, you probably have a huge client to deal with.

Me: Yes I'll be there.

Kaleb: Save a dance for me

I just smirk at the screen, this guy has sent me the same message before every gathering we both attend for years. I always save him at least one dance, then again he's the only one I actually dance with at any event. Mostly due to the fact that it stops any potential "suitors" from approaching me.

Poor Kaleb always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

I quickly slip into my red blouse, black pencil skirt and black pumps. Throw on a dash of tinted lip balm and a stroke of mascara to each eye. Time to get this day started.
