The pink sky was slowly turning black. The day was finally meeting it's last hours.
In the evening, I sat to sort my college assignments for the next day. My phone rang and Edd's name flashed.
I answered,
"Hey, umm, what-"
Edd interrupted and said, "Madam Olsen's class is tomorrow. We are dead."
"What? Wait", I remembered Madam Olsen had told us to keep our assignments ready for submission by the next class.
We knew each other very well. So, there was no question of asking whether he had completed the assignment. We knew we didn't.
"Okay, we are dead", I replied.
I banged the keyboard and strained my eyes for six hours straight, in an attempt to complete the assignment. That caused me a headache which didn't allow me a minute more in front of my laptop. It was already midnight, I forgot to have dinner and my whole schedule messed up. That headache was keeping me from stepping out of my room. I felt a good sleep could help me with it, so I took medicines and went to bed.
It was already 2 a.m. and I was still pulling my hair . The headache was growing terrible. Then I thought of Joanne's dark chocolate. I went to my table, took the chocolate slab out of my bag, had a nibble of it and returned to bed. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself.
"Hey bud, how was your day?" James asked.
"James, James how did you predict all that? Today- oh no, yesterday we went on a date and various incidents occurred- and you knew it , you knew it all, how did you do that?" I asked him.
He smiled at me, moved to the couch and relaxed. Then, he asked calmly, " how's your head now?"
At this I realised my headache was gone. I had been bearing it for hours and it vanished in just 5 minutes from taking a chocolate. Things seemed strange but I did not feel like thinking much about it, I was tired of the pain and it was gone, I could finally relax.
"It's good, I'm fine", I told him.
"Why were you worried?" James asked me.
"Madam Olsen's assignment isn't complete", I told him.
"Chill girl, sleep, everything's gonna happen the right way, everything's gonna be right. The thing that went wrong will now be corrected, and everything's gonna be fine..."
"You are again predicting something, right?" I asked.
He gave a little laugh and spoke,
" Time rushes by , as the deadline walks closer, the clock awaits for the one with a heart, just don't step back from facing it, else you witness a falling scavenger."
"Okay James, I will keep that in mind", I told him and I fell asleep.
There was something strange about his presence, I couldn't figure out what it was, I couldn't think of something, my mind was somewhat...
Out of my control.
