Hayrah's P.O.V

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

Those kind of days that you wake up feeling like everyone is annoying you? Well that's how am feeling right now.

I just came back from school, after the lecturer has annoyed the hell out of me.

And guess today Safna said I should wait for her.

" Salam alaikum". I said entering the kitchen.

"Walaikumu salam" Inna Lami answered back.

"Sannu da zuwa"( welcome ) she said smiling at me.

"Nagode"( thank you ) I smiled back.

I rounded everything around 3:15pm.

~~~
Am currently on my way to the garden after informing Safna that am done.
"Sorry I kept you waiting"Safna said as she got to where i was waiting for her.
"Where are we going please?" I asked her.
"Am making it up for you, so am taking you out and you can't complain" She said grinning.
I just sighed because I know I can't win her over not today.
" who are we waiting for?" I asked her
"Sorry but we have to go with Jasrah, I don't want ummi suspecting anything" she said apologetically.
I just smiled back.
~~~

She brought us to a restaurant that actually looks new, with the jasra of a girl who looked as if she wanted to be anywhere but here.

I feel like using the restroom.
" Safna please where's the way to the restroom "

" oh, it's behind the first building " She answered indicating with her finger .

I found the restroom and did my business.

I came back but I saw another person occupying a seat he was backing me so I couldn't see his face. I went and sat down on my former sit.

"Hayrah meet our cousin Na'im and Na'im meet Hayrah" she introduced us.

"Hi" he said smiling.

"Hello" I answered smiling back.

He's soo handsome if I might add. He looks like Arab.
Ohhh I think it runs in the blood.

Safna just stood up to collect something from her friend outside as she said and that was when i noticed jasra wasn't here anymore. And guess I was left with the stranger alone.

We didn't say anything to each other for a while. He was busy with his phone while I was sited just looking around.

" well since we are left alone can we get to know each other" he finally broke the silence.

" OK I think so" I answered back.

"Am Na'im Ibrahim Maigari, I came back from London last week for my masters, am 26 years old, I work as a Doctor in our family hospital here in Abuja, am the only child actually. You?"

"Am Hayrah Abubakar, am 20 years old, Am in Abuja University studying Architecture. Actually I work in Safna's house."

"Wow, I thought you guys are friends" he said.

" yeah we are friends " I said.

" Guess I will be seeing you in the house, am always available " he said happily.

"  I think so" I answered him.

" Sorry I kept you waiting " Safna interrupted what he was about to say.

" No problem " we replied her together.

"though we enjoyed our selves"Na'im added smiling at me.

"Uhmuhm" Safna cleared her throat narrowing her eyes at us.

God what's wrong with me I just met him but am already comfortable with him.

" I think we should get going it's late already" Safna smiled down at us.
Beauty overload masha Allah.

" Where's Jasrah " Na'im asked.

"She said something about going out with her friend" Safna said.

" she's meeting us at home kenan", I finally said.

"Yes".

Finally

We are back home already, I cooked dinner for them and went back home. Thankfully Hajiya wasn't back from wherever she went to when we came back.

" Hajiya flease lisen to me efen if na once" The man said with his terrible Hausa accent.

He has been talking to me or more like following me for more than seven minutes though I haven't spared him a glance.

Men actually surprise me, how can you be talking to every girl you see on the road, what if she isn't a human being or something. If you like a girl why can't you approach her in a decent manner fisabilillah.

Even though this one looks like all those Hausa Alhajis with two or three wives at home. That's the problem with our Arewa people. If a man is rich even if he's old enough to be your father you can still marry him, what nonsense.
But sometimes they say it's poverty, how can early marriage be the solution to poverty, when they can't stop giving birth to children they can't take care of every nine months.

How can sensible parents marry off their female children at an early age of 13 or 14 with the excuse of poverty and the following year you find the girl dying when giving birth when the cruel husband will never leave her like that. That's why female child education is an important aspect that needs serious attention in Nigeria even though I think the governments are doing their best on the matter, just that illiteracy is too much in the country.

" Aslam alaikum" I sallamed.

" walaikumu salam" mama and ya Ammar answered me together.
" Mama Ina wuni"  ( mama Good Evening) I greeted her.

" princess welcome back" mama said.

" Ya Ammaru weldone"

" Hayratu na" he said smirking.

" And I have something to discuss with you later", he said now serious.

"OK" i answered sighing. Just so you know, I already know what he's going to talk about.
Ya Ammar never liked me working and I know that's what he's going to talk about.

We all can't depend on his salary, I have to help him that's why I can't stop working and hopefully not now until we secure better jobs insha Allah.
