Codependency
"Sorry, we're still clo-- Aye?" I blinked a couple of times, surprised.
"Hi." She half-heartedly greeted because her eyes are busy roaming around the cafe, her lips partially parted.
"I didn't know that it's close because of --" She pointed at the sign which says 'CLOSED' from the inside, so meaning the other side showed that we're open. Oh.
Her attention is still on the interior of my cafe. I let out a smile while enjoying watching her because she look like a kid in Disneyland.
She's wearing a white sneakers, a high-waisted jeans and a simple pastel blue shirt tucked in it. There's a white tote bag hanging on her shoulder. Her hair's in a bun again, leaving some strands on the side of her face. She's also wearing a round-framed specs that suits her.
"O-oh! Ravi, right?" She finally looked at me when she felt that I'm watching her. "I'm just passing by when this cafe caught my attention. Do you work here?"
"Ah, kinda..."
"Sir Raviel!" We both glanced at Rey who came out from the kitchen. He stopped when she saw Aye.
"May gagawin pa po ba?" He asked in a slow manner, eyes going back and forth from me and Aye.
"Yes, call kuya Carlo. We have a special guest for our second soft opening." I commanded smiling, Rey quickly nodded and went inside the kitchen.
"Huh?" Napatingin ako kay Aye.
"Napadaan lang talaga ako because I got curious." She politely declined even though her actions says the opposite.
"Uhm... I'll leave na." She said and look around for the last time.
"Curiosity killed the cat."
She stopped and face me again. Her eyebrows slowly met, her eyes are asking.
"Satisfaction brought it back." I continued not breaking the eye contact. I walked towards her, hiding my hands on my pocket as if it can calm my fast-beating heart.
"Let Moonlight satisfy your curiosity." I said when I passed. Her eyes followed me.
I saw her bite her lip as her eyes follow the chair I'm dragging. She once again looked at the surrounding, thinking. When I met her eyes, I gave a smile. Please say yes.
"Okay, sige." She said and take the seat. I sigh, feeling relieved.
"We'll not disappoint you." I said and started to walk towards the counter.
Nasalubong ko si kuya Carlo, ate Sol at Rey nang makapasok sa kitchen, nakasilip silang tatlo sa loob.
"Sino yung bisita natin?" Tanong ni ate Sol giving me way.
"Cousin po ni Kuya Lumos." I answered and put my apron, I saw them three put theirs also.
"Eh anong order niya?" Tanong ni kuya Carlo while tying his apron.
"We have limited ingredients right now so we can't make her order, we will give what is available instead." I said as I think of what we will make. Napasubo ata ako sa offer ko, I forgot that we have limited stocks.
"Rey, entertain her while Kuya Carlo prepare her drink."
"Aye! Aye! Captain!" Sumaludo pa sa akin si Rey before going out.
"Kuya Carlo, make an Iced Caramel Macchiato for her, please." It's one of our best seller drink that is available right now. Kuya Carlo just nodded and headed out.
