"Remus!" Virgil stepped in front of Roman and Logan, legs planted apart, ready to defend his friends.

Remus mockingly placed his hand on his chest. "Aw, Virg, I thought we were friends."

Remus had somehow gotten ahold of a green trench coat with a high collar. It was undone and showed his grayish white shirt.

"Don't even think about using your powers against us," Virgil growled.

Remus feigned hurt. "Virgil, I would never-."

"Stow it. We're taking you to Janus and you're leaving."

"What, you don't wanna play?" Remus giggled.

Remus's eyes started glowing and he sent a thought but Virgil mentally grabbed it and crushed it before it reached any of them.

"No. I'm done with playing games."

Remus frowned. "That's interesting. I thought you'd never get sick of the one game where-"

"Stop it, Remus!"

"-you would scare people to nearly the brink of insanity," Remus continued, undeterred. "Remember how if you did it suddenly enough-"

"I said stop it!" Virgil yelled, covering his ears.

"-and to the right people they would just kill right over." Remus seemed to enjoy the memories.

Roman was stunned and not sure how to talk to this insane man who was supposedly his brother. No doubt, he saw the resemblance, but it was still difficult to believe.

"Remus?" He stepped to Virgil's side.

Remus seemed to suddenly realize Roman's presence, as if he hadn't before. "Roman?"

"You... you remember me?" Roman stepped forward cautiously and felt Virgil tense.

"How could I not! Your memory was the only thing that kept me sane all those years in the asylum!" Remus cackled at his joke. "Do you remember me?"

"Vaguely," Roman knew Remus was dangerous but he wondered if Remus would let himself be gently apprehended if there was somewhat of a bond. "I had no idea you were in an asylum. I just woke up one morning to mother and father dressing me for a funeral."

Roman had hoped the mention of their parents would help but it seemed to do the exact opposite. Remus's eyes darkened and tentacles of green mist writhed around him as if in agony. "And so you just let me die?"

"What was I supposed-?"

"Where's the snake man?" Remus turned back to Virgil.

"I don't know," Virgil growled. "But let's find him and get you two out of the city."

"Wait!" Roman tried to run forward and grab Remus but his evil twin melted into the shadows and disappeared. He turned back to Virgil who was still clutching his head in his hands, pushing against his head as if to push out the memories. "Virgil... what was he talking about?"

"I don't want to talk about it." Virgil whirled on his heels and bent over Logan. "We have to find the others."
