It had been about a week since I arrived at the new school and so far, everyone had been completely accepting of me. Surprisingly, I made quite a few friends.
Ms. Héderváry was the nicest teacher ever! She didn't care what we did in class as long as we got our work done, and sitting next to Ludwig made it even better!
I walked into the classroom with a spring in my step. Today was Friday. One more day left and I would have an entire weekend to myself! I was welcomed by Ms.Héderváry and told to sit in my usual seat. Of course, I obliged and happily made my way to my chair.
Ludwig cocked his head in my direction which made me smile. He was seriously too cute.
"Ciao, Ludwig!" I whispered excitedly.
"Someone's in a good mood..." He mused.
"But of course! It is Friday after all!"
Our conversation was interrupted when Ms.Héderváry cleared her throat.
"Today is the day that we begin our very first project of the year!" She exclaimed enthusiastically. A collective groan came from the classroom. "Alright, alright calm down. It's not all bad.
I'm letting you pick your own partners, so choose someone and get with them now."
I immediately looked to Ludwig, and to my surprise, he looked at me too. We stayed like that for a moment, our eyes locked. Without breaking eye contact, I began to speak.
"Would you like to work with me?" I asked expectantly.
"Yeah... I would," he replied.
I flashed him a huge smile and turned to face forward. Just as I did, Ms.Héderváry placed a paper between the two of us. It contained the details of the project and the due date.
The project had something to do with different cultures but honestly I couldn't care less.
The important thing was that I was going to be working with Ludwig. It certainly was going to be an interesting month.
