My hands shook and my palms sweat as I walked into the unfamiliar building. I tried to hide my head but I felt as if a thousand pairs of eyes were burning through my skull. Never have I felt so nervous. They were probably all looking at me oddly. I mean, who would want to be friends with some random foreign exchange student? I bit my nails nervously when I realized that it would make me look even weirder.
I stared down at the slip of paper in my hand. It read 'room B130.' My heart skipped a beat as I remembered that I didn't know my way around the school.
'Will I have to ask someone for help?!' The thought sent shivers down my back. 'They'll all hear my accent and think I'm weird! I'm afraid to even speak! Not to mention how terrible my English is!'
I squeezed my eyes closed tightly and tried to keep from overwhelming myself. I shook my head slightly and took a deep breath. I needed to calm down.
'Should I just surrender and run away?!' It was a shame that my big brother wasn't there to help me.
I made my way into the almost empty bathroom. There were only two people in there, so I figured it was safe enough to enter. I looked up cautiously and saw two curious looking boys staring back at me.
One had a kind face with slightly chubby cheeks and feathery whitish-blond hair. His nose was unusually large and round. He was wearing a long pastel pink scarf and an even longer beige trench coat. His skin was pale and his cheeks seemed permanently stained pink. He looked like the most innocent person I'd ever seen. But still, something about him made me uneasy.
The second boy didn't actually look that much like a boy. He had long dark hair pulled back in a ponytail and tied with a red ribbon. His sparkly brown eyes complimented his traditional Chinese dress shirt. The sleeves were so long that they draped over his hands. He was so tiny compared to the other boy.
The blond one seemed to be examining my face carefully while the brunette just stared at me with a blank expression. I fidgeted nervously as I wasn't used to being looked at so closely.
Blondie started speaking to me in an unfamiliar language until the brunette stopped him by putting a slender hand on his chest. The blond looked confused for a few seconds, but then seemed to realize his mistake.
"So, are you a foreign exchange student?" Blondie asked in a heavy Russian accent.
I nodded quickly.
"Do you by any chance know where room B130 is?" I asked trying to keep the volume of my voice to a minimum.
"Yes. We were just about to go there ourselves." Said the brunette. His accent sounded Chinese, but I wasn't really sure. "I'm Yao by the way."
I nodded and smiled a bit. Knowing that they were foreign exchange students too lightened my spirits and set me in motion.
"Nice to meet you Yao! I'm Feliciano Vargas!" I replied as I took his feminine hand and shook it firmly.
"This is my friend Ivan." He said, gesturing to the blond. His name suited him. He sure looked like an Ivan to me.
Ivan waved and smiled warmly. He seemed sweet.
"Very nice to meeting you, Feliciano." He stated, grabbing my hand and squeezing it slightly. It made me feel frightened, but also welcome. I wondered if this Ivan guy was bipolar.
The bell rang loudly and people dispersed out of the halls.
"We'd better get going. Are you coming with us Feliciano?" Ivan asked sweetly.
"Sure!" I smiled and began to walk with them.

In a few minutes we got to the classroom. As soon as Yao opened the door, I saw people of all nationalities snap their heads in our direction. They stared for a moment and then continued what they were doing. A teacher with long brunette hair and an orange hair clip walked up to us.
"We're just getting situated today so take a seat wherever you like. I'm Ms.Héderváry by the way," she said cheerfully.
I scanned the room for a place to sit. There weren't many empty seats due to the surprisingly large size of the class.
I finally decided on a seat next to a boy with slicked back blond hair and stunningly blue eyes. I couldn't really see him from a distance, so I decided to walk over to him and get a closer look.
Once I was in my seat I looked over at him. His cheeks were slightly pink. I giggled a bit and tapped him on the shoulder. He was cute.
He looked over at me and his expression didn't change.
I stared deep into his piercing ice-blue eyes. They were absolutely breathtaking.
He cleared his throat slightly.
"Do you need something?" He asked.
I quickly snapped out of my reverie and was brought back to Earth. I felt my face heat up slightly.
"Sorry! Your eyes are just really pretty..." I trailed. I mentally stabbed myself at how stupid that comment was.
He opened his mouth to speak, but I quickly cut him off. "You know what? N-nevermind. I'm Feliciano Vargas. It's a pleasure to meet you! Where are you from?" I inquired. His accent was funny when he talked.
"I am Ludwig Beilschmidt, and I am from Germany. I'm guessing you're Italian?" He replied. His voice was incredibly deep and almost sexy...
"Yeah! How did you know?" I asked stupidly.
"The accent gave it away." He stated with a smirk.
'Is it really that obvious?'
"Well, I hope we can be really good friends!" I exclaimed.
"Friends...?" He trailed off as if he didn't know what the word meant.
"Yeah! I think it would be fun!" I declared.
His serious face slightly softened.
"I haven't had many friends before, so I will probably treat you badly. But, I guess it could work. Ok then. Friends," he said with a slight smile.
I was hit with a wave of happiness and grinned from ear to ear. I pulled him into a tight hug, causing his face to go red.
"Yay! We can be the best of friends! We can share secrets and have sleepovers and parties and you can meet my brother! I'm sure you guys will be best friends too!" I rambled excitedly as I tightened my grip on him.
When I pulled away from the hug, he was red in the face. I giggled at this and decided to introduce myself to the other classmates.
