"You okay?" He asked a bit later. "Mm," she purred. "Sore but really good. You?" Caleb chuckled and lifted his head to gaze into her eyes. "I'm beyond awesome. That was amazing." He licked his lips. "If you could go again, I'd bury my head between your legs until I have to come up for air." Thank God for dark skin! She thought with a smile.
Aria shook her head as he wiggled his hips and smirked when she whimpered before slowly easing out of her and curling up beside her. "Tonight was...I liked it a lot." Caleb pushed strands of hair off of her face. "Good. You deserve nothing but the best, Ace." Aria looked him in the eye and smiled her heart squeezing smile. "I love you, you know that." Caleb arched a brow. "I do know. I also know that I love you too."
His words made warmth bloom in her heart. "Promise me something? Promise me that no matter what we'll be there for one another. We'll be open and honest and always choose each other." Caleb looked into her eyes before giving her a kiss. "I promise. I'm always on your side, Ace. And I can promise that you and your heart are safe with me."
Smiling, she kissed his cheek and let him draw her into the circle of his arms. Aria stared at the ceiling and attempted to process everything that had just happened, but then decided there was no need. There was no reason to think or analyze. All she had to do was lay back and soak in the afterglow, so that is exactly what she did.
"Guess we're missing dinner," Caleb chuckled looking at the time moments later. "I'm not hungry anyway." Aria moved to stretch and felt a twinge of pain. "I could go for a soak in the tub though. Want to join me?" She said over her shoulder with a flirty smile. Caleb went to put his briefs on and nodded.
"Go start the water and I'll be right behind you. I want to text the group that we're not going to make it to dinner." Aria made her way into Caleb's bathroom and started the hot water after plugging the tub. She smiled at her reflection. She didn't feel different, but she did at the same time. You're a woman now. The thought caused her to roll her eyes and laugh.
Caleb sent the text and was ready to join his girlfriend in the bathroom when he heard a knock on his door. He grabbed a pair of basketball shorts and put it on before opening the door. A blonde-haired girl with big blue eyes stood on the other side. "Can I help you?"
A look of irritation flashed on her face, but was quickly gone. "I guess you don't remember me. My name is Janelle. We slept together the weekend before school started." As if hit by a freight train the memory of his one-night stand resurfaced. Caleb was pushing her further into the hall and closing the door behind himself. "Look that night was a mistake. I have a girlfriend now and I don't see you..."
She held up her hand to stop him. "I don't want you, Caleb. I just thought you should know that I'm late." He raised an eyebrow. "Late for what?" Janelle looked at him like he was an idiot. "My period is over a week late. And before you go saying anything stupid if I am pregnant it is most definitely yours."
There were so many words in the string of sentences that had Caleb reeling. "I don't have a car and would really appreciate it if you could take me to the store to get a test." Caleb could hear her, but he felt like she was fading. "Caleb, are you listening?" She snapped her fingers in front of him and he came to. "Come by tomorrow at 12:30 pm and I'll take you to the store." She nodded and turned to leave.
Caleb made his way back into the room and leaned back on the closed door. What the fuck am I going to do? "Baby, the water is ready!" Aria called out from the bathroom and in that moment Caleb's fear was insurmountable. I'm going to lose her. The thought had tears welling in his eyes. "Babe, did you hear..." Aria stood in the bathroom doorway. "Why do you have shorts on?"
Caleb shook himself out of his thoughts and plastered a smile on. "Someone was knocking on the door so I went to see who." Aria held out her hand for him. He quickly stripped and joined her. They sat down into the tub and Aria reveled in how perfect the water felt. Caleb was quiet and lost in his thoughts, so he didn't hear Aria's question.
"Caleb!" He was shook back to the present. "Yeah, babe?" Aria leaned her head back against his shoulder to look at him. "I said who was at the door?" Caleb looked at her big brown eyes and wanted to tell her.
He had just promised her that he would be honest and open and choose her. But as he lied and told her it was a teammate, he knew that without a doubt he didn't deserve Aria Caldwell. Aria wasn't sure if Caleb was tired from the sex, but something seemed off. As they got dressed and in bed he felt distant, off.
"Babe, are you okay?" Aria looked at him and he could see the worry and a twinge of fear on her face. She's afraid you regret what happened. "I'm just really tired. Your pussy is like a lullaby." Aria gasped and chuckled as she hit him playfully on the arm. "You're so crass, Caleb Calloway, but I love you anyway." She snuggled into his arms and smiled. For a while they just lay there in one another's arms and eventually Aria found herself dozing off.
Caleb listened to her breathe as thoughts ran rampant in his mind. I'm going to lose her. My mother made me promise one thing and I fucked it up. She's going to kill me. I'm not ready to be a father. And if I were to become a father it would be to me and Aria's kid. How could I be so fucking stupid?
Thoughts buried him at each turn. He was ready to give in to the despair until he realized that they weren't sure if she was actually pregnant or not. First things first, we got to get the test. She'll take it tomorrow and it will say she's not pregnant and this will be a tiny blip. Aria will never have to no and we can go on like nothing interrupted our perfect night.
The plan seemed to calm Caleb and he took a deep breath before inhaling her scent. It always had a calming effect on him and he needed that. He fell asleep holding her just a little tighter and praying for the outcome needed.
