Connor’s POV
I was walking to class and my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I took it out and looked at the caller ID, my mother. I declined the call and put the phone back in my pocket. Heading to class.
When I reached the science classroom, Michael waved at me and I walked toward my desk. “What’s u-uh what’s that?” he points at my swollen cheek disrupting his “what’s up?” “Um got into a fight with a drunk guy on my way home” I said shrugging it off. “That’s weird” he said and shrugged his shoulders too. “So…um did you talk to her?” He asked and I smiled nodding my head. “Yeah, she’s Shawn’s sister did you know that?” I asked. “Yeah, but did you ask her out yet?” he asked and I shook my head. “I only just met her” I said. “Gentlemen is there something you would like to share with the class” Mrs. Anderson said and all the students turned to look at us. “Well um Connor’s about to have his first girlfriend ever so..?” Michael says and I hit his arm shocked. “You’ve never had a girlfriend Connor?” Violet yelled out shocked. “You’re so hot!” Brittany said. I looked at Brittany and felt uncomfortable. The whole class started whispering about me and I looked at Michael angrily. “You couldn’t just let us get in trouble you had to put my business out there?” I whispered to Michael and He shrugged apologetically. “Okay class quiet down, let’s get back to the lesson now” Mrs. Anderson said shh-ing the class.
The class ended and I made my way to second period which was math, I walked into the classroom and sat at my seat. I watched as people walked in and Danielle walked in. I sat up on my seat and stared at her surprised. She caught my gaze and she smiled. “You’re in this class?” I asked her a huge grin on my face. “I should ask you the same question” she said smiling. “Well, where do you sit?” “All the way at the back” she pointed to her seat. “Does anyone sit next to you?” I asked ready to go sit next to her. “No, are you gonna be my math buddy?” she asked and I laughed following her to her seat. “It’s almost amazing how close we are but we’ve never seen each other” I said and we both sat down. “You have really nice eyes” she says staring at me. “Thank you” I say blinking quickly and she laughs. I watch as she touches the bruise on my cheek. “The swell is going down, how could someone just punch you like that?” she asked. I looked at her and she smiled at me and pulled her hand away. Mr. Arden walked into the classroom and we immediately began learning something new. I felt something poking at my shirt and looked at Danielle to see her poking me with her pencil. She smiled at me and I shook my head smiling. “Do you get this?” she whispers and I nod. “Do you need help?” I ask her and she nods. I show her the steps to solve the math problem and I watched her get excited when she began to understand it. I liked her there was no doubt about it. “You’re beautiful” I whispered to her and she smiled at me. “You’re handsome” she said and we went back to doing our classwork.
