Connor’s POV
We decided to walk home instead of using transportation because we wanted to spend more time together. It was nine o clock and we had an hour to get to her house but we knew it wasn’t too far. “So how come you never dated before?” Danielle asked and I shrugged. “I have no idea, I guess I just wasn’t interested you know? I watched my mom leave my family and my dad was devastated I just didn’t want to have to go through that” I explained and it was the truth. I watched as she nodded in understanding. “What about you?” I asked. “Practically the same thing, my dad leaving my mom, watching my brother bring in different girls every day, watching one of my best friends go through so much with a boy I just didn’t want to go through it” I watched her expression change. “I’d never, I could never hurt you ok? I know it’s all cliché to say but I am not like other guys I actually understand what it feels to get hurt and I couldn’t stand it if I were to see you cry because of me, you don’t deserve it. Do you trust me?” I asked her. I needed her to know that I was here for her, I’d never hurt her she’s the only reason why I feel so happy. I feel happy when I’m with her and I haven’t been happy in so long. “I trust you” she said and I smiled. “Hey, I’d never hurt you either I promise” she said and I smiled kissing her hand.
When we arrived at her house, we stopped in front of the doorsteps, and smiled at each other. “I love your smile” she said and I smiled even harder. “Stop,” she said poking my arm and I held her hand. “Will you be my girlfriend?” I asked her. My heart beat started going faster and my hands were shaking. I watched her look down at my hands and she nodded. “Of course I’ll be your girlfriend” she said smiling. “Will you be my boyfriend?” she asked and I laughed. “Of course I’ll be your boyfriend” I said mocking her. She kissed me and then pulled away when her mother opened the door. “Aw look at you two lovebirds” her mother said and I smiled. “Mom” Danielle said embarrassed and her mother laughed. “Can I at least meet the boy?” Danielle’s mom asked. We walked up the stairs and she smiled at us. “Hi, I’m Karen Wright what’s your name?” she said putting out her hand and I shook it. “I’m Connor Vitale, it’s really nice to meet you Mrs. Wright I feel lucky to be dating your daughter” I said smiling and Mrs. Wright smiled back. “You are lucky, she’s a wonderful girl, and call me Karen Mrs. Wright is way too long” Karen said and I laughed. “You should head home before its midnight ok? And call Danni when you get home alright?” Karen said and I nodded. “It was really great to meet you Mrs. Wr- Karen” I said smiling. “ It was really nice to meet you too, Danielle come inside soon alright” she said and Danielle nodded as her mom walked back into the house. “She seems really nice” I said smiling. “She is, she’s a really good mom” Danielle said and I smiled. “Ok I guess I’ll head home now, Elly I had a great time with you, and it was the best first date I could ever ask for” I said. “You set up the whole thing, I had an amazing time with you, I’m happy to call you my boyfriend now” she said. I hugged her and she hugged me tighter. “I’ll call you tonight ok?” I said and she nodded. I kissed her cheek and made my way home. This was the best night of my life.
