Danielle’s POV
“Hey Mrs. Vitale!” I heard Ciara yell from across the hall as she walked up to me. My eyes went wide and my face felt heated. “Ci, you gotta stop!” I said as she tried to catch her breath from laughing so hard. “I hate you and we aren’t even together yet!” I said rolling my eyes then I laughed. “Yet” she added and I shook my head. “How about you focus on your love life with Zachary huh?” I asked trying to get the attention away from me. “But Zachary and I are good though” she said and smiled when she saw Elaine and Alexandra kiss each other. “I’m so happy for her” I said and Ciara nodded in agreement. We smiled widely as they walked up to us. “What? What are you guys staring at?” Alex asked and Ciara laughed. “Y’all are just cute that’s all” Ciara smiled. “I’ll see you later ok? I’ve got band first” Elaine said kissed Alex’s cheek and waved at us before walking away. “So what’s up?” Alex asked. “Um nothing just making fun of Dani and Connie” Ciara said laughing. I elbowed her gently and crossed my arms. “Wait so what’s up with you guys?” Alex asked with a huge smile on her face. “They have a date tomorrow, to the movies” Ciara said and I looked at her in disbelief. “I can speak for myself Ci” I said. “So? I got to excited, beat me” she said I laughed. Alexandra squealed excitedly. “Yes girl! You guys are so cute! I can’t wait till its official!” Alex said and I smiled shaking my head. “It won’t be official for a while it’s only the first date ok? Don’t get carried away” I said. “So speaking of lover boy, where is Connor?” Ciara said looking back to see his locker. “He said he felt sick so he decided to stay home” I said shrugging. “Aw, well I hope he feels better” Ciara said. The bell rang and we went our separate ways to class. I had math first and sat at the back alone. I did miss Connor, especially when she gave us this pop quiz. Right now he’d be laughing at my struggle and we’d get in trouble.
My next three classes went by in a flash and it was time for lunch. I saw Shayla and she walked up to me. “Hey” she said. “What’s up?” I asked with no expression in my face. “You didn’t call me this morning, I got to school late”. I felt bad for not calling Shayla but I was upset. The one time that a guy finally took an interest in me she had to ridicule me for it. As my best friend she should’ve been happy for me. “Hey look I get it, you’re upset, I’m sorry for what I said and I didn’t mean it” she continued. “Its fine” I said with a small smile. She looked at my expression and poked my sides trying to make me laugh. I finally laughed. “Okay! Okay! We’re cool! Okay?” I said laughing and she smiled widely then hugged me. We got our lunch and joined Ciara and Alexandra. “Shay, what’s up with you and Deron?” Alex asked. “We’re over, for real now!” Shay said shrugging. “How come?” Ciara asked. “Well he said I wasn’t enough for him and if that’s how he feels then it’s over! I need a guy who can treat me way better than he did! We always argued for no reason anyway” Shay said and I smiled. “You do deserve way better” I said and she smiled.
