Chapter 16

Hailee's POV
-
"Griffin it hurts so bad" I nod
"What?"
I sigh "Not talking to Asa, I hugged him today and all that. I told him to stay away from me. For his good. He did but he left from acting class. Griffin I can't with this." I hug him, he runs his hand through my hair.
"Hailee you didn't need to do that, I told you to stop talking to him if you wanted. Not because I told it to you."
"I know. I did it because I don't want to be hurted in the future. I don't want to hurt him."
"Look Hailee" he says and grabs my shoulders
"Do what you want. But don't let something so stupid hurt you." He finally adds
"And do you think being heartbroken it's stupid"
"No, I didn't mean that."
"So what?"
"Let that guy named Asa hurt you."
"He's not hurting me! I'm hurting myself!" I scream and start running away to my bedroom. While my brother follows me . I shut the door and lock it. Throwing myself to my bed. Crying. Falling asleep...

I wake up, with my eyes itching. It's 9:00pm. I open my door, walking downstairs. I go to the dinning room and find my family eating. Griffin stands up and comes to me, hugging me he says "are you okay?"
"Yes... Well I think. But I feel a little bit better." I give a little smile
"Hailee sweetheart Griffin told us what happened. We're so sorry that this happened to you." My mom says
"No. It's okay I swear."
"Do you want to eat?" She says
"I'm not hungry at all mom... Sorry."
"It's okay. Go to sleep, school tomorrow"
"Mom, I can't sleep. I slept all evening."
"Try to."
"Okay mom I will. Love you" I give my mom, dad and brother a kiss in the forehead. And walk straight to my room.
I seat on my bed and I grab my phone. I pass through my contacts on whatsapp and I see Asa Butterfield, he used to have our photo together. I choose the contact, he last connection was after school like at 3:00pm. That gives me chills. What has happened to him!? I go through my contacts again and I search directly for Taylor.
I start typing 'Taylor do you know what has happened to Asa? He hasn't been on for a while and he deleted his profile picture and all that.' I send and she replies fast 'No Hailee. Why?'
'No just curious... What are you doing?'
'I'm writing a song do you want to hear it? Or do I just send it by here? Or voice note?'
'Voice note' I press send and she starts voice noting
When I receive the note I press play and I hear her singing and playing the guitar
"Losing him was blue like I'd never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Oh, red
Burning red"
Hearing that makes me so shocked and at the same time so identified, I receive a text from her
'That's the chorus, I'm still working on the rest of the song. Do you like it?'
'TAYLOR!! That was so amazing! Wow! And I felt so identified at the same time'
'Thankyou.' 'Identified?'
'Yes...'
'Oh you never told me what happened to you... Why where you crying?'
'I don't want to talk about that Taylor sorry.'
'You don't trust me right?'
'I do but... Fine I'll tell you. If I start crying it's your fault.'
'Hails you won't cry...'
'Oh... You have no idea.'
'Tell me then...'
I start typing... Feeling sad again.
