Walking in the Light (Living in Vision)
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants - men and women alike - and they will prophesy. ” – Acts 2:17-18 NLt “A nd now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. Throughout the ages much of the original Message of the Gospel has been lost. It has been lost because the church has lost the real meaning and secret of salvation within herself and has over time made adjustments from the original Message and salvation call. In most cases the Message has become no more than a choice between Heaven or hell.
People are brought to the Lord, without ever being taught why He really came, and as a result they never truly discover the real reason for themselves. They come to salvation, but are never brought to the “Fountain of Living Water that bubbles up to become a River flowing out from their belly”. The greatest secret of the Gospel and the greatest reason for the coming of Jesus remains by and large a hidden mystery within the church. Even when we preach the Holy Ghost, we do so in a superficial way by presenting Him only through “signs, wonders and miracles”.
Joel saw by vision what the Father would come to do through His Life and sacrifice, many centuries before Christ was born or crucified. What this old prophet of God saw must have warmed his heart and stirred his spirit within him. I am sure that tears must have rolled down the sun-scorched cheeks of this man of God as the Heaven's opened before his eyes and he in full view of the future, saw the wondrous plan of God to be revealed within the lives of His people. What he saw had never been. It had never been heard of and never been seen and the possibilities of such a wonder must have baffled the minds of his hearers.
What the old prophet saw and was given to him in vision from God, was the revelation of a people who would come to know God in a way that only Adam and Eve ever had the privilege of experiencing. He saw a people re-united to God through the Blood of a perfect Sacrifice. A people who would walk in open revelation of the Father and live within His Heart. A people who would be able to live in God's Dreams, who would live by the Living Words of a Living God spoken into their hearts by His Living Spirit. Joel saw people walking with God in open vision and in open revelation of His Holy Spirit! He saw them living in communion with the Living God.
He heard a people filled with the Holy Spirit, walking with God in the supernatural realms of Heaven. He heard them speaking the languages of Heaven in visions, dreams, and living by the open revelation of God's Word. A people once far off, now being brought near to God in His Spirit, reunited and rejoined in fellowship with the Father through the sacrifice of the Son!
