“If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honourable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous iving, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. ”

– 2 Timothy 2:21-22 NLt

“If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning. ” – Romans 14:23 NLt

“And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. ” –  Ephesians 4:30 KJv

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. ” –  Ephesians 5:25-27 KJv

“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. ” –  1 Corinthians 11:2 KJv

“A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. ” –  Ephesians 5: 31-32 NLt

The most important thing as a Christian to know and to come to realize today, is the fact that you will constantly be engaged in a battle while living here on earth. Salvation does not free us from facing battles – It simply gives us the upper-hand! We do not fight losing battles when we fight in the Spirit and with His weapons, but we still have to fight –– And what we fight for is not to gain what we have not received, but to protect it from a thief! We have an enemy that will never rest from his only conquest, and that is to steal away from us what we have received from God, and to steal us away from God, if it is at all possible. Jesus warns us that a time will come where deception will be so rife that the enemy would even try and steal away the “very elect” (Matthew 24:24) if he can.

I believe that we have entered this time, as we see how more and more of God's children are falling asleep at a time when they should be alert and are resting in their own assurances, rather than being prepared for the midnight hour, gathering all the “oil” they can, to sustain them through the dark days ahead in this world.

God has given us a field to protect and a treasure that has been hidden and sealed deep within us. He has given us many weapons with which to battle, but above of all, He has given us His Presence!

The book of Ephesians gives us a unique perspective on Christ's relationship with us and tells us how we have been called as His virgin bride. It also gives a wonderful perspective of our redemption in Christ.

When we read chapter five with care, we see that Jesus not only washed us in His Blood, but also washed us in Himself! He gave Himself so that we might be purified through Him and in Him. He made us holy in His Holiness.
