Satan is still the same crafty old serpent he has always been. In six thousand years of our existence he has only had one plan and that was to confuse what God had placed in order. He has no creative power, so all he can do is to confuse creation! He will attempt to do anything and do whatever it takes to try and get a foothold on us and a foot into the door of our lives. He hates the fact that we are able to share what he had lost so long ago! He does not want to see us live our lives in God's Fullness and will try any trick up his sleeve to distract us, con us, or tempt us out of the will of our Father and out of His plan of Abundant Living for our lives! Ever since the garden of Eden he has been bringing God's people into disarray, stealing from them what he himself could not own or possess. This is his strategy and his tactic and it has brought him a fair amount of success. He is the father of lies and very good at it. Whenever he speaks, he lies, he is a master at using the truth of the Word and bending it into deceptive lies. Many people expect the devil to be a monster, they cannot see him any differently than having horns, a tail and carrying a pitchfork. To be very honest with you – He may be the finest dressed and most attractive preacher that you have ever seen standing behind a pulpit! He does not come to scare people off, but to win them over! He preaches his lies in the softest tone of voice, using choice words that fall gently upon the ear –

This is the enemy we face every day! It was AW Pink who wrote –

“The apostles of Satan are not saloon-keepers and white-slave traffiker's, but are for the best part ordained ministers. Thousands of those who occupy our modern pulpits are no longer engaged in presenting the fundamentals of the Christian Faith, but have turned aside from the Truth and have given heed unto fables. Instead of magnifying the enormity of sin and setting forth its eternal consequences, they minimize it by declaring that sin is merely ignorance or the absence of good. Instead of warning their hearers to "flee from the wrath to come" they make God a liar by declaring that He is too loving and merciful to send any of His own creatures to eternal torment.

Instead of declaring that "without shedding of blood is no remission," they merely hold up Christ as the great Exemplar and exhort their hearers to "follow in His steps."  Of them it must be said, "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God" (Rom. 10:3).
