[Ryder's POV]
I pull up into our driveway. I'm surprised I even managed to do so with as many cars that are here. Many cars are parked in our drive way, which confuses me. "Looks like there's a party going on?" I mumble under my breath. This aint right, we don't even throw parties. Who in their right mind is throwing a party tonight and didn't tell me? This upsets me but I don't want to alarm Aaden, he needs to stay, cool, calm, and collected. He doesn't need any type of stress, and I don't want to be the one to cause it either. I've already learned he doesn't like very large groups of people.
Aaden clears his throat and makes me turn my head quickly to him. "Are we going to get out now?" he says quietly looking at me with worried eyes. Shit, I spent so much time thinking, I forgot we were still sitting in the drive way. I open the door and get out, and go to Aaden's door to let him out. We both walk back to the trunk which I opened before hand and start grabbing bags of clothes. I take the bags with all the jeans and hand Aaden the bags with all the shirts and hoodies. I don't want him carrying too much.
I take a deep breath in as we start walking up to the door. "Are you okay?" Aaden asks me, he looks genuinely worried, "You don't look okay." he frowns. I just nod and open the door for my eyes to be met with a bunch of teenagers in my house, mostly people from school I hardly ever talk to. Everyone stops what they are doing and just stare at me and Aaden. Multiple couples making out in different places around the living room, lights flickering, and music blasting. People look us up and down, some with disgusted faces. This sends me in a rage. Before I can let out my anger, Aaden drops his bags, covers his head and ears, and runs upstairs.
"Weirdo..." I hear someone say out loud. "Freak" I hear come from another direction. That's it, I'm not going to let some random kid call my mate a "weirdo" or "freak". A growl erupts from deep within my chest, everyone's eyes suddenly widen, scared of what I'm possibly about to do. "EVERYONE...." I take a deep breath, I can feel my voice ready to deepen, "OUT!" Nobody hesitates to leave, and they all flood out of the front and back doors. I pick up the bags Aaden dropped and hastily head upstairs, stomping, very angry and upset. I'll worry about who threw this party later, I just hope he's alright.
I walk into my room and open the door to see Aaden... covering his head and ears... curled up on my bed, crying. I quickly put the bags in the corner of my room and rush to sit next to him on my bed. I start rubbing his back, "Shhh, what happened?" I say in a very gentle tone, to show I really care. "That... was... so... scary..." he says in between sobs. I decide to lay next to him and begin to play with his hair, "Why baby?" I say. The word "baby" just fell out of my mouth so naturally, but I think he's too emotionally out of it to notice. He turns over to me and continues to cry. I pull him close to me and continue to rub his back and play with his hair. "Shhh, just calm down, and tell me.. why was it so scary?" I whisper.
I can feel him take a deep breath. "My mom... she used to throw parties a lot.." he starts. I just nod for him to continue. "She would be drunk... and used the other people there.. as help to beat me..." he continues. This makes me worry. "Beat you?" I say in disbelief. He nods, "They wouldn't hesitate to do it either, they'd be so drunk. And then, after every party, my mom would leave and want me to clean up everything... bruises and all."
The thought of him getting.. beat.. by random people, makes me pull closer to him. "Well don't worry about that, nobody here will ever hurt you, you are safe with me. You are safer with me here, than you are at home. Never be worried you will get hurt here. This is your safe place. Everyone here cares so much about you, especially me. All of us here will make sure you are okay at all times. Just don't freak out..." I whisper quickly into his ear. I feel him nod.
We lay closely in silence for I don't know how long. "I'm hot..." he says randomly under his breath. I pull him up, and take his shirt off of him, and I take off my shirt immediately after. He lets a small smile shine through. It makes me happy that he's smiling again, seeing him sad hurts my heart. "Pants too?" I whisper. He nods quickly. That makes me smirk. I get up off the bed and walk around to his side. He sits on the edge, ready. I pull his pants off one leg at a time and then take off my own. We climb right back into bed. I turn off the light before I climb into bed and pull the sheets over both of us. In the dark, Aaden quickly finds me and hugs himself close me. I run my fingers down his spine and he puts his head over my shoulder. I continue to trace my fingers up and down his back.
All of a sudden, a strong smell comes to me. I lean my head down towards his shoulder and neck. He smells great.. he has almost a citrus smell to him, but mixed with a bit of vanilla.. It smells amazing. I don't want to get up from next to him, ever. The smell almost hypnotizes me. Before I even realize I'm tired, I'm fast asleep.
