The figure stood from the rock he sat upon to leave the tree line shade from the scorching heat. A red dot in the darkness showed and moved closer to light. I felt uneasy as the unknown man makes his way to me. My whole body throbbed from my battle with garp. I couldn't face another strong opponent like that even with my devil fruit powers restored.
"Don't worry. I just wanna talk, it's been such a long time since we've seen each other." The voice was long and raspy from the years of smoking probably. His black shoes shined in the sun blinding my eyes for a second. His long grey hair flowed down his back. His left eyebrow had a scar going down his eye at angle leaving his left eye white and blind. My whole body began to shake as my childhood memories of this man flooded my brain like he was someone I could forget.
"U...uncle...dewey... is it really you. W...why are you wearing that coat." My voice cracked seeing the words justice written in the back of his coat. Tear rolled down my cheeks changing his expression.
"Things have been really tough these past couple of years. You can trust me." He puts up his hands and lowers himself to his knees. A smile curled on his lips as his own set of liquid slowly streamed down his cheeks.
"You've grown up so much. To me you look just like Talho. You're just as strong." He wiped his tears and the snot running down his nose. My heart was aching it felt like something was wrong I tried to listen to his words but each one seemed to cut deep in my heart. Something didn't feel right I hated this heavy feeling in my gut.
"Seems like we've got time. Why don't you explain to me why it's been so tough." My eyes narrow with a deep longing threat in my voice. He hasn't given me any reason to trust him.
"Scum will always prevail. Justice is the only freedom the world should seek. Your parents clearly never knew justice and never took responsibility for any of their actions. Navy soldiers to lowlife pirates even when they had you they turned you to an old women to look after you but I bet you never meet her. They left they're only child in hope you'd die and they would have nothing to go back to." The smile that creeped on his face sent a shiver down my spine. Goosebumps form on my skin as the lingering words echo in my mind. As if I had known my parent I went along with the note for me to find them but what if it was a goose chase they sent me on what if my existence was a lie. My emotions have had an overload. It feels like my head is about to explode.
"How ridiculous!!" A female voice screamed scaring my thought away and whipping my head in the direction of the unknown voice. An old woman with the same striking silver hair my father gave me.
"You've always been this way with him. He only runs to protect the things he loves. Don't you remember...my son." Her soft eyes flow to her kneeling son as he looks towards the ground and grits his teeth so hard I could even hear it over the crashing waves of the ocean.
"Doesn't she deserve the truth mother. Don't you miss your husband that your son murdered and then fled to be a pirate." His voice stung as more tears left his already red swollen eyes. My eyes darken as I began to walk towards the boat that held my belongs I grip both sides and start to push the heavy object into the sea.
"Where are you going?" My uncle screams so loud and hard his voice cracks making me stop right before the salt water.
"I have no reason to believe you! If you won't help me find them then I can't listen to any shit that spills from your mouth. The truth lies in those who seeks it!" My jaw clicked as the damage from garp's fists of love.
"If you seek the truth only death is what you find." I hear the click of the gun cocked and a gasp leave my grandmother's mouth. A smile spreads across my face breaking his focus forcing his nerves to shake his entire body.
"He smiled too. Is there anything that scares you?" His entire body them crumbles to the ground as his tear become uncontrollable. His weeping makes my grandmother crumble herself. I gaze at the both of them feeling as if I've missed something completely important. My mind was foggy and I couldn't really process the lies or truth they were speaking of. I must really not know anything about my parents. To me, my family is all a mystery and everytime I find something that could lead my to find them ends up making me more confused.
"We lived different lives than you. You've seen what you've seen and I've seen what I've seen. That's what makes us all different. If I fear the things I've seen they'll haunt me for my life. I'd be dead already." I leave pushing the boat into the water and not looking back.
