"What is this, the fellowship of the rings?"
I stare disbelievingly at the group of people who've decided to follow me out of this world.
"Wait! I'm coming too!" Tatie bursts into the living room and bumps right into Mason, backpacks jingling and all.
"Tatiana?" Masons face turns into the colour of a red velvet cake....I'm pretty sure that's in his bag as well. Seeing as it's the largest of all my seven companions.
"Seriously, what's with the crowd? I appreciate all of you, but...."
"There's no way I'm letting my little sister leave without me. All the more if it's a perilous journey" Mason steps foward. "I told you I'd protect you didn't I?"
I roll my eyes at him. He knows I'm still mad at him so I know he's not expecting a reply.
"Your my friend," Angelo steps up as well. "I won't let you face the dangers of your life alone. I'm here. Here for you and here to help in any possible way I can"
I give him a small smile.
"I can't imagine a life without you," Luca makes his way next to Angelo. "So I guess I'll have to follow you everywhere. To keep you safe; that's my job"
I give him a smirk, while Angelo gives him a scoff.
"Best friend forever, you've been with me through thick and thin. I'd be a jerk not follow you out there. Besides you are my ride or die" he gives me a wink.
Smiling softly at him, my eyes land on Aerwyna, Azar and Thora. "I get it, ya'll wanna go home,"
Aerwyna frowns. "And teach you all you need to know about your home"
"And annoy the hell out of you as well" Azar continues.
"And guide you through every path" Thora gives me a circuitous nod.
Everyone turns to face Tatie expectedly.
"Well, umm...I just...I just want to go on an adventure...I guess" she pauses, uncertain. "...and to see where my dad grew up" she gives her brother a small smile.
"Your dad grew up in Allozan?" I question.
"Yes, that's what our mama told us"
I turn to my parents.
"Ashton was a great warrior" dad speaks up.
Taties' eyes light up. "You knew my papa?"
He smiles kindly at her. "More than that, dear. We fought side by side against the enemies of Allozan. Your father was a great man. Loved you and your siblings more than anything. Wouldn't stop talking about how beatiful his daughter is and how intelligent his son is. Even went on about how the little one in your mothers stomach would become a star"
Taties' eyes well up with tears and Luca holds his sister close. "Could you tell me how he died?"
Dad gives her a sympathetic look. "He died during the war against Griffon. No one was prepared for that war, but your father defended the kingdom with all his might. You'll get to know more when you get to Allozan"
"Thank you" she replies with a sniff.
"We need to get going" Thora intercepts.
My mum looks like she's about to die. Taking a deep breath, she holds me close.
"Mum, why can't can't you and dad come with?"
"We have to fend off Griffon if he attacks earth again. You'll be fine. Just remember one thing.....always look beyond what you see..."
