Walter stared at the edge of the piece of land, Princess Patty floating beside him.
After a while of messaging the ever frustrating ginger, Lily he had discovered she was stuck at her houses lot- a few blocks away from his place and of course this triggered an idea. He was going to go to her lot but, now the question was, how exactly?
Walter knew that Princess Patty, his sprite knew how to travel around but, she was apparently keeping it all a secret leaving Walter to fend for himself.
Hence, the reason why he was observing from the edge of his lot. He was in deep thought trying to figure a way out. It seemed that Princess Patty was tired of waiting for the boy to get the picture.
"You do know there's wooden planks from the solar flare scattered around here, right? And just a hunch maybe, you can use them to get to Lily by maybe, making a bridge?"
"But, then, where would that lead to? I see no other piece of land other than ou-"
"Walt, squint real hard in this direction."
Another piece of land not to far from his stood in front of them.
"Good thinking, Patty!" Walter beamed patting his sprite's fluffy head.
He then scrambled to scavenge for some wooden planks and something to make them stick together with, in suit Princess Patty followed behind.
"That's Princess Patty to you." She huffed, her pink cheeks glowing a furious red.
But, alas, Walter ignored her whistling as he continued on with his scavenging and in mere minutes he came back to the edge with planks of wood under his pits.
"Now, something to stick them with."
He hummed trying to think of a way to stick them together.
"Wow, you're a slow one." Princess Patty complained floating down to the pile of wood.
"Your dad is a carpenter, remember? He must have some strong materials in his working area for the wood."
"Yeah!" Walter exclaimed flabbergasted, "how could I forget that?"
She snorted, "we all have pathetic questions, mortal."
And soon, Walter had built a not very strong wooden bridge that stuck together with an unfamiliar gooey paste from his father working area.
He stared at the weak makeshift bridge wearily and says, "we better walk over it fast before we fall into whatever the hell's down there- hey! Wait, that's not fair you can float and I have to walk and risk my life just to get over to the other side?"
"Perks of being a sprite." Patty grinned floating up beside to the boy.
He tread slowly upon the bridge and he knew soon it would fall apart at this rate but, he knew if he went too fast he would pressure the bridge with his impact.
Either way he knew he was going to die.
"Walt, at this rate i'm pretty sure you're going to fall off." Princess Patty impatiently says.
"Don't distract me, Pat! If I loose my focus i'm going to fa-"
Suddenly, halfway his words the bridge snaps in half sending him off into the perpetual darkness planks of wood following after the shrieking boy.
Princess Patty giggles at the sight, "I don't think you need that focus no more, right?"
"SHUT UP!" The demanding words echoed.
"I'm coming, Walt, let me get your glasses and i'll follow after you!"
Meanwhile, a confused girl discovers a abandoned laboratory after finding herself in an expanse of sand.
