POV: Hailey Stein
Ten years ago, my life was changed forever by a man named Joey Drew when he made me the offer of a lifetime...
---
"...Hailey, I have an offer for you. I want to start up an animation studio, one that would make cartoons. However, I don't have a business partner, but now, I want you to be my business partner."
I was stunned. "Why me?"
"To be honest, I'm a dreamer. I don't have the artistic skills required to pull this off. However, you do. I can see what you brother saw in you, someone with a gift. What I'm offering you is the chance to use it. So what do you say Miss Stein?"
I pondered the question for a few minutes, then a grin formed on my face. "Mr. Drew, I look forward to working with you."
---
The two of us traveled to New York City. Then a few days later we started up Joey Drew Studios, and Joey made me a promise...
---
"...I promise you Hailey, everything will be fine."
"Really?"
Joey nodded. "I promise you my friend, someday you'll be wildly famous. Someday, everyone will know you for your work..."
---
Three years later, I discovered he broke that promise...
---
"...How could you do this to me Joey?! I trusted you! You promised me people would recognize me for my work, but instead you've taken credit for all of it!"
"Calm down Hailey, I can explain..."
"Explain what? You stole from me you greedy bastard, and I've had enough of you and your lies! I won't let you take advantage of me anymore! I QUIT!"
---
I had promised myself I would never return to the studio. Yet now it's the studio's tenth anniversary, and I've broken my own promise. I've returned to the studio. Just because Joey sent me a letter:
Dear Hailey,
I know I'm probably the last person you want to hear from. After all, we weren't on the best of terms when you left the studio seven years ago. However, I'd like to mend fences. The tenth anniversary of the studio's opening is coming up, so how about you come back to New York and pay a visit to the old workshop? I have a surprise for you, and you'll love it.
Your old pal, Joey Drew.
PS: My surprise involves Alice Angel
Personally, I blame my curiosity for agreeing to it. Joey knows I'm a very curious person by nature. So of course he'd use that to motivate me. I let out a sigh, and entered the studio.

POV: Wally Franks
I was mopping up an ink spill caused by a pipe bursting. I'm supposed to be taking the day off, but I can't just leave a mess alone. It simply wouldn't be right. I stopped when I heard something. The sound of heels clacking against the floorboards.
Huh? Who could that be? I wondered.
Then I heard Mr. Drew's voice. "I can't believe it, you actually came!"
"Neither can I to be honest," a woman admitted.
I was stunned. I knew that voice. It belonged to someone I haven't seen in seven years. Part of me didn't believe it was actually her, so I peaked around the corner. When I saw her, my jaw fell off. It was Ms. Stein!
"It's rather quiet Joey." she noticed. "Where is everyone?"
"I gave them the day off."
"You're kidding me. You gave them the day off?!"
"Of course I did. It's the studio's tenth anniversary after all. It's something to celebrate."
She shrugged. "Makes sense I guess. So... what's this surprise of yours?"
"It's this way, follow me."
Mr. Drew led Ms. Stein down a hallway, and out of sight. For a moment, I was tempted to secretly follow them, but I decided against it. So I returned to work, not realizing that would be the last time anyone would ever see Ms. Stein...
