- - Annabeth's POV - -

I bolted into the throne room and accidentally interrupting a meeting. They all looked down on me with questioning eyes. "Annabeth, what is the matter?" said Athena, putting down her papers. I was just about to explain what happened when my friends burst into the throne room. They were about to say something but Poseidon held up a hand, telling them to wait. "I had a dream last night. Of Percy..." I said. Apollo flew down from his throne and held up a glowing finger. "May I?" He asked. I nodded and he placed the glowing finger on my head.

A huge screen appeared, and it started playing my dream as if it was a horror movie. The gods watched in horror when they saw the state Percy was in. My friends had started crying. When the "movie" ended, everyone was standing there shaking. "Does that give us any clues to where he could be?" I asked. Athena shook her head. "What I am most worried about is what they are doing to him. The serums they injected into him could be fatal... And seeing the other Subjects makes me fear what is to become of Percy..." said Athena. I nodded and broke down in tears again. Who knows when we will see him again?

It has almost been a month and a half and there was no signs of Percy. My friends and I had dreams of him once in a while, but they were mostly about Percy getting tortured and having more serums injected into him. At least we know he is still alive...

- - Percy's POV - -

I woke up to another day of torture and pain. I've been here for who knows how long. Every day I think of everyone in Olympus, and why they haven't come for me. Sometimes I feel as if they have forgotten about me, or don't care. I feel so weak and vulnerable, but thankfully it's not as bad as Polyphemus' Island. I groaned as my wounds from yesterday opened back up and began spurting blood. I haven't been able to use my powers, so I couldn't heal myself.

I sighed and got up from my creaky bed. For some reason I felt lighter. Not because I've lost quite a few pounds, but probably because of something else. My back was aching from the numerous shots I've had there. Like, what are they trying to accomplish here?, I thought angrily. I sat back down on the floor of my cell and ran a hand through my hair. I fingered at the collar around my neck, trying to pry it off me. I received a small shock in return. I grunted and took the sheet that was covering my bed and ripped off a piece and tied it around my wound. I winced as I applied more pressure to it.

I glanced through the bars of my cell at another prisoner. She had red curly hair and brown freckles dotting her face. I called her sugarbear for fun and we both tried our best to keep each other upbeat. She was like a little sister to me. Her eyes were squeezed shut, as if she was focusing on something. She has this special power to be able to control the mist, and the people here force her use it constantly so that no one would find us. It must be so exhausting.

Out of everyone here, she and I were the only people without noticeable mutations. See, everyone here is captured and forced to become test subjects. We have all been injected with DNA of another animal, and that may cause us to have some features like that animal.

I still don't know what I have been injected with, which kind of scares me. I've seen people with lizard tails and duck beaks, and I feel horrible for them. I closed my eyes and leaned my head up against my bed. Annabeth... I thought. I miss you...

My eyes snapped back open when I heard the familiar creaking noise of my cell being unlocked. I grinned weakly at a young girl who glared down at me. "Good morning sunshine." I said sarcastically, but received a shock in reply. "As to you, 05." she said coldly. She was pretty short, and had pale skin accompanied with hazelnut brown hair. I was about to comment when she snapped her fingers, signaling two older men to appear behind her. They were pushing a stretcher. I frowned at the sight of it. I already knew the routine.

"I hear that today's a big day for you, 05." said the girl, readying a tranquilizer gun. I shakily stood up and backed into the corner. "I don't need to be tranquilized! I'll get on the stretcher." I said, throwing my hands up in the air as if to surrender. "I'm afraid that you don't have a choice, 05." she said, pointing the gun at me. I tried to dodge the tranquilizers, but eventually I was taken down. I collapsed onto the floor, my vision starting to go black. I felt the two older men pick me up and dump me onto the stretcher before falling unconscious.

When I woke up I was in a different room. The ceiling was about 15 stories high, which was weird. Why would they need a room this big? I thought. I slowly got up from the floor and looked at my surroundings. The walls were made of thick concrete, and to my right there was a tinted window implanted in the wall. Although I couldn't see them, I knew that those shitty scientists were in there, watching my suffering.

I was about to walk towards the window to scream a few insults at them, until I felt a sudden pain in my back. I frowned and shook my head. Just the needles I thought. Then that pain came back stronger and more painful then before. I gasped and fell to my knees when my back started to feel like it was on fire, slowly spreading out to the rest of my body. I screamed in agony as the pain continued. I started coughing and spluttering blood as I continued to gasp for air. I thought I was going to pass out the pain was so bad, until it suddenly stopped.

I breathed out a sigh of relief and started to get back onto my feet. As soon as I got back up, I fell right back down. I felt this abnormal weight on my back, which was throwing off my balance. I craned my head to look over my shoulder and what I saw made me almost faint.
