~*Chapter Fourteen*~

- - Annabeth's POV- -

"That was hilarious! I don't think I've ever seen him like that." giggled Piper. "I know right! I'm so going to tease him about it!" exclaimed Hazel, who was clutching her stomach from laughing too much. "I didn't notice anything different. He's like that on a daily basis!" I wheezed.

Harper giggled as Jason chased her around Hera's Garden. Frank had transformed into a German Shepard and was barking at Jason. Piper rolled her eyes and muttered "Boys.." Hazel and I nodded in agreement and smiled.

- - Percy's POV - -

I woke with a jolt. I was breathing heavily and beaded with sweat. My wings were trembling and I was shaking. There were machines all around me and I had a mask on. I quickly ripped it off and started having a panic attack.

"W-where am I?!" I shouted, but I was alone. I raked my hands through my hair and started having a coughing fit. I took a deep breath to calm myself. I slowly got out of bed and removed the IV's from my arms. My vision started to dim.

I glanced at my wings and a flood of unwanted memories came back to me. Me punching Jason, getting stabbed by Piper.... need I go on? I shrieked in pain and fell to my knees. "W-what have I done.." I said shakily, glancing at my bandaged hands.

Tears rolled down my face as I slowly got back up. I tried flying but my wings felt numb, so they just dragged behind me. My vision was getting blurrier and blurrier by the second.

I stumbled out of the room and the sunlight blinded me. I noticed blood dripping from my shoulder as I got even more lightheaded. "Where am I..?" I mumbled. I couldn't recognize where I was because of how blurry my vision was.

I took a step forward and fell down some steps. "Ow.." I mumbled. My breathing became more labored as I struggled to get back up. I need the ocean.

I imagined Olympus' beach and vapor traveled there. I sighed in relief as I collapsed onto the sand due to exhaustion. I started seeing spots as dragged myself towards the water. I reached a shaky hand into the water and then blacked out.

- - Annabeth's POV- -

It's been a few days since our last visit, so we decided to sneak one in. Harper, Frank, Hazel, Jason and I all crept through the garden and towards Percy's room.

Before I entered, I noticed a trail of blood leading out the door. "Hey guys, look at this." I said, pointing at the ground. Frank frowned and turned into a wolf and sniffed the blood. He turned back, his face pale.

"This is Percy's blood." He said. Jason hastily threw the doors open and sure enough, Percy was gone. Machines were knocked over and IV's were scattered all over the floor. There were more blood spatters on the ground.

"N-No..." mumbled Harper, as she hugged her stuffed animal tight. "APOLLO!" shouted Piper. Apollo flashed in, and his face paled at the scene. "Oh dear.." he mumbled. He rushed towards the machines and picked up the IV's. "He's not done with his treatment.. he must be in so much pain right now.." he said.

"Check the security cameras." said Hazel. Apollo nodded and projected a misty screen that was playing footage of the last few hours. We watched as Percy woke with a start and started panicking. He pulled out the IV's and stumbled out of the room.

"Hmm. That's not good." mumbled Apollo. He waved his hand to change to the outdoor camera and found Percy fall down the steps. "Ouch.." muttered Harper. He then disappeared.

"W-where'd he go?" questioned Harper. "He vapor traveled, probably to the beach." I said. Apollo flashed us there immediately to find an unconscious Percy.

His feathers were ruffled in the wind and his unruly hair was blowing in all directions. Apollo and I ran to him and flipped him onto his back.

Blood was flowing out of his mouth and his face was pale. Apollo took out a syringe and injected it into Percy. "ACK-" shouted Percy, as he bolted upright. His eyes squinted into the sunlight, but now they were back to the normal sea green. "A-Annabeth..." he mumbled, while tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at me.

"I-I'm s-so sorry..." he said as tears ran down his cheeks. Everyone came forward and hugged him. "It's alright Kelp Head. It wasn't your fault..." they assured him. Percy sighed in relief as his body relaxed and he wrapped his wings around his friends. "I missed you guys so much.." he said, hugging them tight.

"You okay Percy? It looks like the treatment is working! You're eyes are back to normal. How are you feeling?" pestered Apollo as he waved us away from Percy. Percy smiled weakly and rubbed the back of his head.

"I can't see much, it's all blurry. And my shoulder and head hurts, but that's about it." he said. Apollo nodded and put more bandages on his shoulder and fed him some ambrosia. Harper came forward and sat down next to Percy and brushed some sand off his wings.

"Hey Sugarbear." he said as he pulled her in for a hug. I sat down on the other side of Percy and leaned my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead and leaned his head on mine. "Thank you for taking such good care of my sister." I said. Piper squealed in the background and made "awwww" noises.

Percy gasped and his eyes widened. "Y-your sister?! Harper... what!?" I nodded and Harper giggled. Percy was grinning like a maniac. He was about to say something when he started having a coughing fit. "You alright Percy?" asked Hazel. "I'm... fine.. really.." he said between coughs. Percy's warm gaze suddenly became glassy and blank.

"Ready to comply." he muttered dully as he stood. Harper screamed and ran behind Jason, but I stayed with him. "Percy, snap out of it!" I pleaded. Percy's stare flickered as his knees buckled.

Why is this happening to him? I knelt beside him and grasped his hand. He shook my hand off and backed away from us. "No..." he muttered.

"You're not safe around me... please go.. I don't want to hurt any more people." he said shakily. I shook my head and grabbed Percy's shoulders to calm him down. "Percy. Whatever happens I will never leave you. Now go and finish the treatment so we can cuddle later." I said stubbornly while blushing.

Percy nodded and pulled me in for a hug. "Thanks Wise Girl." he whispered before his eyes rolled up in his head and he fainted.
