- - Annabeth's POV - -
Two people in white coats stepped forwards. One a young man and one an old woman, just like the dream I had so long ago. Athena, Poseidon, Zeus, and Apollo stepped forward. "Leave, at once. You have no business here." boomed Zeus.
Percy wrapped his wings around me, as if to shield me from what was to come. He tried to seem strong, but MRL has done so much to him to hurt his pride.
"Oh but we do have business here, Lord Zeus. We've come to take back what is rightfully ours." said the man, who took out a book from his coat. Percy's face paled as his wings started trembling. He let go of me and started walking away, covering his ears.
The man smirked as he opened the book, flipping through its worn pages. "Guys, you have to get out of here NOW." shouted Percy who still had his hands covering his ears. Everyone shot him questioning looks, and no one noticed some of the soldiers bringing out weird looking guns.
There was a loud BOOM as the guns were shot at the unsuspecting gods. We watched in fear as they were frozen in some sort of material. They had furious looks on their faces as they struggled to get free.
The man chuckled as he advanced toward Percy, book in hand. "Oh 05.... what trouble you have caused here... We aren't done with you yet!"
Percy glanced at us in fear and screamed "GET OUT NOW!" I couldn't leave. Not without Percy. I started running towards the exit with everyone trailing behind. Percy soared above us as well as Jason.
"DAYBREAK...." shouted the man, who kept walking towards us.
Percy yelped and clutched at his head as he went spiraling towards the ground. I stopped running as did the others. "PERCY!!" I screamed, running towards him.
"VACANT...." the man said, getting closer to Percy.
Percy screamed and tried to get up but his wings gave out. "NO...NO STOP IT!!" he shouted gripping his hair as he fell to his knees.
There was another loud BOOM as another gun was fired at me and my friends. We were all now hopelessly frozen watching what was to become of Percy.
He was trembling and using his shaky hands to cover his ears. His wings dragged behind him as tried to stumble towards us.
"LONGING...." the man said, who was still walking calmly towards Percy.
Percy let out an agonizing shriek as he collapsed, still shaking violently. He lifted his head to meet our eyes. His multicolored eyes shone with sorrow and fear. "I'm sorry..." he whispered as he took his hands away from his ears.
The man smirked as he reached Percy. He grabbed Percy by the wing and lifted him to his knees. "Good choice, 05. You wouldn't want your friends to suffer anymore..."
Percy whimpered and glared at the man as he tightened his grip on his wings. "Just go... take me and leave them alone.." Percy said. A woman came walking up beside the man as well. "It's too bad that you won't remember the sacrifice you've made for them." chuckled the woman. What does that mean?
Percy's glare softened as he met my gaze. He smiled weakly and mouthed I love you. All I could do was helplessly watch, as tears roll down my cheeks.
"SIXTEEN" the women said. Percy's eyes suddenly turned glassy, as his wings drooped and his smile faded. He got up slowly and stiffly saluted to the scientists. "Ready to comply." he said in a monotone voice.
Tears streamed down my face. What had they done to Percy? The scientists cackled maniacally and slapped Percy across the face. He didn't even flinch and remained saluting. "Welcome back, Subject 5. Execute Order 66."
