Halloween Maze Race - Theo Raeken

You stood nervously outside of the entrance to the Halloween maze with the rest of the pack. Some of them buzzed with excitement, others...not so much. Every time someone from inside the large house screamed Lydia's hand clenched tighter around your arm.

"I hate this" you said watching as another group exited, some still terrified, others laughing at each other.

"It'll be fun" Theo whispered as he leaned down next to you

You turned and glared at him "For you"

He smirked at you as the line pushed forward again "We're next!" Stiles said enthusiastically from behind you.

"Great" Lydia said sarcastically from next to you.

Scott spoke up "Alright, remember, we are working in pairs. The first two to make it out win, even if only one from the team makes it out"

You sighed, why did you agree to this? When the pack first came up with the fun Halloween plans you were excited. And the prospect of a fun Maze race sounded good, until they told you it was a haunted maze.

"Okay, I'm with Malia, Stiles with Lydia, Theo with y/n, Liam you're with Mason" Scott said just as the man at the entrance ushered you all inside.

You had hoped that your werewolf senses would allow you to be able to tell when someone or something was going to jump out at you, but there were so many noises sound and lights you couldn't tell anything apart. Just as you were thinking this, your first jump scare was given by a man dressed as a zombie.

As you, Lydia and Liam all jumped back with a shout you felt Theo's arm grab your waist to stop you from falling backwards.

Leaning down next to your ear he whispered "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe" you could feel the smirk in his voice.

"Shut up Raeken" you said pulling away from him.

You're heart was pounding. Not from the monster anymore, but from the way Theo held you against him, and his voice against your ear. You just hoped he would think your rapid heartbeat was due to the adrenaline.

As you made your way into another hallway you were all faced with multiple doorways leading down different paths. As everyone looked at each other, you all silently agreed to go through different doors, each pair walking into the door closest to them.

As you and Theo walked down your hallway you tried to prepare yourself for another jump-scare. Just then a hand burst through the wall and grabbed at you, gasping and pulling away you growled under your breath. Rolling your eyes at the small laugh that came from Theo.

As you rounded a corner a man covered in fake blood leaped out and screamed, Theo jumped back and you let out a small scream. Without realizing, you had grabbed hold of Theo's arms. Looking up you saw him smirking down at you.

"Shut up" you said quietly, earning a chuckle from him

After another long hallway and a couple calculated turns and more jump-scares that you needed, you found yourself at two doors.

"We are getting close" Theo said "I can smell the popcorn they were cooking outside"

Taking in a breath you smelt it too "Which way should we go then?"

"Well, since only one of us has to make it out first to win...lets sp-"

"Ahhh!"

You both screamed as a giant spider fell from the roof. After a moment of silence you looked over at Theo "'Let's split up', better not be what you were going to say."

He laughed "Alright then, which way do you want to go?"

Turning back towards the door you took another deep breath, focusing your senses. One door way kind of had the smell of...cotton candy, more than the other. All the food vendors were outside the exit. Taking a chance you pointed at the door on the left.

Theo sighed from next to you "Alright, lets do it"

Walking forward a man dressed as a clown jumped out, hiding your face in Theo's back he kept walking forward. You weren't able to see the smile on his face as he held you closer to him.

After a few moments you felt a cold breeze hit you. Still hiding your face in is shirt you spoke, your voice muffled "Are we out?"

You heard him chuckle "Yeah, we're out. And we won" he said proudly.

Pulling away from him you saw one of the employees "Congratulations, you completed the maze" he said in a bored tone, handing you a fake medal with a spider carved into it.

You sighed out in relief, turning to Theo you saw him smiling down at you "What?" you asked, suddenly feeling subconscious

"How'd you know that was the right door?"

You smiled lightly, turning your eyes fell onto the cotton candy truck "I could smell the cotton candy" you said as you walked towards it.

He watched at you happily bought some, coming back you handed Theo a some "Thanks" he said just as you heard a relieved gasp come from the exit.

Turning you saw Scott and Malia run out, seeing you they both groaned in disappointment. You and Theo smirked at them "Have fun?" Theo said sarcastically

"I hated it" Malia said walking up to you after taking her fake medal.

"I was enjoying it. Up until Malia almost murdered one of the employees" Scott said, giving Malia a judgmental look.

"What? He was dressed as a werewolf, it caught me of guard"

You chuckled and shook your head, turning towards the exit as Stiles and Lydia came barreling out, followed by Liam and Mason, Stiles yelled in celebration "Ha! We won!"

You heard Theo clear his throat loudly from next to you, Stiles, turning and seeing the four of you groaned loudly "Aw man!" You all laughed as he sauntered towards you, defeated "Who won?"

"Y/n and Theo" Scott said smiling at his friend.

"What exactly did we win? Nightmares for the next week?" you asked, suddenly feeling exhausted as the adrenaline started to fade.

Scott chuckled "No, you two win a free pizza whenever you want it" Scott said walking towards the next exit.

As everyone walked past you you started to follow, Theo still walking next to you, he spoke quietly "We make a great team"

You scoffed, your voice full of sarcasm "Yeah, if you call me hiding my face as you drag me to safety a team them yeah, great"

He chuckled "Oh I don't know, having you latched onto me felt pretty great to me" he said smirking at you.

Rolling your eyes you smacked his shoulder, but wrapped your arm around his as you walked after the others "Shut up Raeken"
