It was very late, when Leo sat down on the couch next to me after he had taken a shower.

I was absorbed in reading a script, so I didn't notice him coming out of the bathroom at first. "What are you reading?" I looked up. "A script. But I'm not sure if I really like it, yet.", I answered his question. "I guess you're taking time out.", he said. "Yeah I'm taking a break until next summer. I guess you're taking a break, too?" "I am. My mom always tells me to finally settle down and now I wanna find out who I am. I don't really wanna date young models anymore. I wanna find someone who I can be with for the rest of my life." That made me think about Ned again. I looked down at the script, trying to hide my tears. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.", he said while pulling me in a hug. "No it's fine, It's just... I just have to control my emotions.", I told him. I was sobbing. Leo wanted to say something but he didn't do it. I interrupted our hug and looked at Leo. "What's wrong with me? Why can't I make my marriages work?", I asked him. He looked at me with a confused expression on his face. He touched my cheek with his right hand. "Kate, there's nothing wrong with you! You're a wonderful person and a beautiful woman. And it's not your fault that your marriages didn't work. That guy cheated on you and that's his problem, not yours, because he chose to be with a woman who isn't half as wonderful as you are. And every guy who does something like that to you, doesn't deserve you!" He wiped my tears away. "Thank you." I didn't know what else to say so I just kept staring at him. He kissed my forehead and pulled me into a tight hug.

That hug took very long. When I ended it I looked at him and said: "Can you distract me from this whole thing? Tell me one of your stories. I've always loved your stories!" "Okay." And then he told me a story from his childhood. It was about one of his first castings for a TV advert. His stories were always great and he made it even funnier than it had probably been in real life. Leo was the only person in this world who could make me laugh, no matter how bad I felt. And he made me laugh that time, too.

We sat there for hours. I listened to him without interrupting him once.

"It's getting late!", he said, "We should go to bed."

We walked upstairs together and stopped in front of the guest bedroom. He smiled at me before he said: "Well, goodnight, Kate." "Goodnight, Leo.", I replied. He kissed my cheek and went inside. I stayed outside his room biefly. Then I turned around and went down the corridor to my bedroom.

I pulled the blanket over my head and couldn't stop myself from crying.
