"JJ is gonna kill me." she whispered to herself.

Rafe walked out of the drug dealer's house with a bag of drugs. He walked to his car, not glancing at her. "Coming or not, Maybank?" "Sure." She got into his car, in the passenger seat. "Drop me off at my dad's, I'll be fine by myself." she said. "Nah no chance. I know how he is." . Yet the whole island knew that Rafe Cameron was the most independent, cold hearted man. "Um... okay. Well, I need to give him this." she replied, too exhausted to argue. "Comin' with you." "If you want to." she sighed. If her brother saw her with Rafe Cameron, she was just going to die.

Night had already fallen. Sky walked home, tiptoeing so as not to be noticed, Rafe behind her. She turned to him. She saw him smiling, as if he was laughing. "Shut up, I know." she breathed. She threw the bag of drugs at her father, who woke up. "What the-- oh, it's you." he burst out laughing, drunk. Sky was ashamed for the first time in her life. Rafe probably had a perfect life with a perfect family.

"Yup, bye." she waved at her father.

"Hey, Sky. You look a lot like your mother." he said. "Wasted."

He stood up and moved closer to his daughter. She noticed Rafe moving closer to her. To her surprise, he didn't hit her. He did not insult her. He gave her a hug. "You remind me of your mother," he whispered in her ear. Love you." she caught him from falling. He was already unconscious, probably from too much alcohol. "Help me put him on the couch, please," she said.

She felt proud. Her father loved her, he loved her like a father loves his daughter. Since she was a child, she hadn't had the love of a parent. So every time one of her teachers was proud of her, she thought of him as a father figure. She knew that this was not normal.

She sighed, getting back in the truck "Rafe I'm serious, what's going on. why are you taking me to your house?" she asked seriously. "I'm not a monster, okay. You're alone in the neighborhood with a completely broken bike." "Yeah, whose fault is that?" "You'll take mine, I don't give a shit. Stop asking question now." he replied, not leaving the road for a second. For the first time, Sky stared at him closely. A few brown hair fell across his forehead, his blue eyes with a gray tint, his nose perfect and his jaw perfectly set. Even though she was supposed to hate him, she couldn't lie to herself, he was gorgeous.

"You're staring." said the boy.

"No."

Arrived at his house, she was surprised by his house. It was beautiful and big.
In silence, they entered. Rafe guided her to his room. His room was larger than she had imagined. There was a bed in the middle of the room and a bathroom in the back.

"Go change and sleep. I'll sleep on the floor." he said.

"Um change with what, first. And why don't I just go to another room?" He hissed, annoyed. "Don't make me regret bringing you to my house. I'll pass you a sweater and you sleep here because this is my house and no one is looking in my room so you're safe."

She was in no condition to contradict him. Rafe passed her a sweater that was too big for her. It smelled of him, probably his perfume.

"You can sleep next to me, I don't really care." she said.

He did not answer, placing himself next to her.

"You're not mean as I think you would be, Rafe Cameron." "You just don't know me."

Sky fell asleep. Rafe didn't understand why he'd invited her to his house. She was a pogue, a Maybank. She might have been the pogue he hated the most, but part of him, though he would probably never admit it, was her soft spot. He never insulted her or even hit her. And that scared him. He wasn't used to that kind of emotion. In 17 years of existence, he had never felt love, he rejected it as if it was a virus. He fell asleep, thinking that he was only thinking about it because he was tired. Sky woke up at dawn. "I'm going but thank you," she whispered to him. She left the room quietly, being careful not to wake anyone.

As she felt someone behind her, she turned to see Rafe's sister, Sarah Cameron staring at her with disdain. "You're one of his hook ups?" she asked. "No, ew. Don't tell John  b, I know he works here." she begged. At the mention of the dark-haired man's name, Sarah sighed, then nodded. "Not anymore."

Sky frowned before leaving the house. What was she talking about? She walked to the castle. "Damn, I never noticed we lived so far away."

She sat down on the couch in front of the house.
