"Sarah won't believe this..." said Sky to Kie, who agreed.

Sky cleared her throat. "Uh, I gotta go. See..." she didn't finish her sentence when JJ interrupted her. "polo boy, uh?"

"Yeah." she said, looking at the floor.

"Yeah, I'll drop you." he finished.

He climbed into the twinkie, his sister next to him. She was scared of the moment when they would talk. Maybe it was Sarah who would open the door and JJ would leave.

The ride was silent, Sky didn't know what to say. Her brother's opinion meant a lot to her, but she loved Rafe. Yes, they had only gotten to know each other well a few months ago, but the nights spent with him, the dates and the outings were enough.

When she arrived at the house, it was Rose who opened the door. "Hi, can I see Rafe?" she asked.

The lady looked like she was going to laugh but she let her in without saying a word. She took one last look at her brother, who was already staring at her. She smiled at him and went upstairs. The blonde heard Sarah and Ward talking in a room. Young Cameron seemed to be crying, and although Sky was very curious by nature, she decided not to listen. After all, it was none of her business and John B had said that Ward was a killer... She headed to her boyfriend's room and knocked, waiting for an answer. Rafe finally opened the door after a few seconds. His eyes were red and his hair was disheveled. "Hi. What are you doing here?" he asked as he shifted so she could get in.

"Uh... John B told me about something..." she replied.

He blew out his breath, understanding what she meant, his dad killing "JB's dad."

"Look, my dad, he's not a killer, okay?" he said as he stood up, pacing in front of Sky.

"I didn't say that, only John B seemed pretty mad. I've never seen him like that."

"He tried to kill my dad, my father didn't do shit." he repeated.

"That's okay, Rafe. I don't want to get involved in this, though, if John B needed help, I'd have to help him, you know?" she replied.

"No, I don't care about that pogue. You need to be safe, and you're only safe with me." he told her, raising his voice.

He seemed exasperated by the situation, he continued to walk in front of his girlfriend.

"I'm capable of defending myself, Rafe. Trust me." she told him, rising.

Seeing that he was going to retaliate, she took his hands in hers.

"Look at me, everything is fine." she said.

He nodded his head. For once in his life, he didn't want to argue, he didn't want to mess up.

"You did it again, didn't you?" she said, he was worried that she would bring up the drugs. "You put gel in your hair." she continued.

He let out his breath and smiled slightly.

"Come into the bathroom, I'll fix it for you." she said, taking him into the bathroom by the hand.

She sat him on the edge of the bath and took a dryer.

After removing the gel from his hair, she wetted it and began to part it, so that his hair would take on a different shape.

Watching her every move, Rafe looked at her, he liked her expression when she was very concentrated. He enjoyed her touch in his hair, he liked it when her fingers slowly ran through his head.

Her blue eyes were beautiful, she looked iridescent. He liked how her lips pinched when she was concentrated. He was interrupted by his thoughts as she pulled away from him, a big smile on her lips.

"I love that haircut."

He stood up to see himself in the mirror. She had done a good job. He smiled at her through the glass of the mirror. She wore a small, proud smile.

"You're adorable." he said as he turned to wrap his arms around her shoulders.

She laughed and stood on her toes so he could kiss her. He put his lips on hers. It was not a sensual kiss, but a slow and soft kiss. His favorite.

"We're going to sleep," she said.

Sky pulled on one of Rafe's sweaters and crawled in the bed.

...

The next day Rafe found himself and his girlfriend in his "hidden place," a place that wasn't really hidden because it was his home. Sky was reading her favorite book (it ends with us) while Rafe seemed to be taking drugs on the side. Sky didn't mind. She knew it wasn't good for him and she always made sure he didn't take too much but after all, she and her best friends were no better. To her surprise, she saw Rafe's little sister walk up.

"Rafe?"

He hid his coke. "I'm sorry." he whispered. Wheezie chuckled. "Hi Skylar, don't worry. I'm not gonna tell anybody." she said.

"Do you want some or..." Rafe began.

Sky threw her book at him. "Rafe! She's like 14." she scolded him like a mother.

Wheezie turned to her.

"She's right, I'm 13."

Rafe scratched his head, embarrassed.

"Uhh--"

Sky stood up and smiled at Rafe's little sister. "Bye, I'm gonna go see my brother. Rafe, don't give her drugs or I will kill you." she said.

"bye Wheezie." she smiled at her.
