After the interview, Lauren stood by the gate of the company. She was trying to choose between trekking home and boarding a taxi. She was running out of money and she needed to manage the little she has left while hoping to get the job. She continued to pray silently, for she needed to hustle for survival.

Just when she decided to walk home, Gloria called out to her and offered to drop her off at home. She rejected at first but the latter insisted, so she had to accept the favour. Besides, she needed it and has to be appreciative.

'Thank you Gloria', she said.
Well, you do not need to be so formal. Call me Glory.
Okay, Glory.

After she told her address, Lauren was quiet throughout the ride. She was lost in her world of thoughts. Gloria, on the other hand, was loquacious. She had wanted to indulge Lauren in a conversation and only shut her mouth when she heard no response.

'Here we are', announced the chatterbox.
Gloria, thank you once again, said Lauren.
Don't mention. Aren't you inviting me in?
I'm sorry, I'm feeling sleepy now but I'll invite you someday.
Okay, I understand. I'm leaving.
Bye.
Bye, I hope we'll both get the job.

Lauren entered her house before Glory left. It was a two bedroom apartment with a kitchen, toilet and a few household items. This was one of her favourite possessions which was gifted to her and her late mother by her uncle, Steven Smith.

The thought of her mother's murder brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't win the court case because the murderer always had her way. Her mother's murderer still lives comfortably in her father's house as his new wife. Thinking about that, she clenched her fists so hard that she dug her nails into her own flesh. Her worst enemies are her own family, and she will never forgive them.
They will definitely pay for their crimes.
