CHAPTER 5 : THE ACCIDENT

     Lauren was so engrossed in thoughts that she didn't realise that she was on the road. A car honked loudly and before she could move, another car hit her. Her vision became blurry and before she could fathom what was happening, she passed out. A lady came out of the car and told the driver to help carry her into the car and head to the hospital.

At the hospital...

     Rhea looked perplexed as she looked at the woman her car had hit on the hospital bed, waiting patiently for her to wake up. She called the doctor for like the tenth time since she brought her.

'Don't worry Miss Johnson, she'll soon be fine. She fainted because she was very shocked but we'll try our best.

'I'm just scared, said Rhea. I pray she survives.'

'She will, said the doctor optimistically.'

     Rhea was almost dozing off when she heard the woman muttering some words in her sleep, she moved closer to her so that she could hear her better.

'I'm sorry Ma'am, I really need this job. Please don't fire me, I promise to be loyal.'
She gasped loudly before going back to her slumber.

     Rhea suddenly smiled as an idea popped into her brain. She just prays the lady agrees to her plan.

     Lauren woke up with a severe headache in the evening and was surprised to find herself in an unfamiliar environment, then she started recalling everything that happened. She was still thinking of what to do next when she saw a very pretty lady coming out of the restroom.

'Thank God you're awake. how are you feeling now?'

     Lauren could only nod her head as the headache was becoming unbearable. Rhea called the doctor to inform him that the patient had woken up.

'Who are you?, asked Lauren in a low tone.

'I'm Rhea Johnson and my car accidentally hit you. I'm really sorry to have caused you so much pain.'

     Doctor Avery came in and examined Lauren, she complained of severe headache and body pains and he explained that she needed bed rest for a while before giving them a prescription. Rhea made tea for Lauren before following the doctor out. She came back after some minutes and gave Lauren the description form to fill before calling her driver.
