The land of S.A.F.E. is unlike your world, and yet it's exactly the same. Co-Existing with you are people who are born with gifts that make them Unique. Those gifts are broken down into 5 categories:
Strengthen: Those whose gifts enhance all, or a part of their own body; physically or mentally.
Manipulation: Those whose gifts allow them control of animate or inanimate objects, including other people.
Conjuring/Teleporting: Those whose gifts allow them to bring themselves, elements, or objects; animate or inanimate, to or away from their current location. The distinction between the two is: if an object is made from matter/unknown source it is Conjured; if the object came from somewhere else, it is Teleported.
Beast: Those whose gifts allow them to take on the senses, power, trait, and/or being of an animal.
Specialists: Those whose gifts are without category. Those who fall into this category often, but not always, wear glasses.
Among these 5 categories there is one group that is exempt: The Continental Beasts. These animal spirits go beyond those of normal Beast category due to the full-body nature of the Beast Bond. This bond allows the chosen host to "cloak" themselves in the essence of the beast, momentarily giving up their humanity to let the spirit take control.
The Beasts are as followed: North American Snake (varying species), European Lion, South American Monkey (varying species), Australian Bull Shark, African Crowned Eagle, Antarctic Bears (three spirits: Grizzly, Polar, and Black). The Asian Beast is one of mystery, some say it started off a Fox and grew jealous of the Eagle, so it changed it's form to a Crane. Others say it grew jealous of the Shark and changed into an Octopus. The official registry says None, but the public holds their own thoughts.
Each Continental Beast must attend the most prestigious Academy for University, intended for them and those whose Traits allow them to affect a mass number of people: Rippley Academy. There, every student is taught to control and harness their Uniqueness while also learning to work with others. In the two later years, students choose a major and study it like any other University; but Rippley is completed in only 3 short years.
