The World Es Mi Familia
Karter
'What.. the hell was I thinking?' I groaned internally while rubbing my eyes.
'I'm sure you were thinking about "new dick" as Elijah put it.'
I rolled my eyes and glanced at my clock, 6:27am. I woke up before my alarm again. I've always wondered if other Beast trait holders could hear their counterpart in their minds, but it's probably a Continental perk. I laid back for the remaining three minutes to stare at my ceiling mirror, and reflect over last night's events.
I left with Elijah and proceeded to verbally spill my guts to him while I drove us to my house. I'd never felt something like that before! I've read books about kinky activities and "The Art of Submission", but I'd never thought I'd like it so much... and him... those eyes! I heard both myself and my Lion groan at the image. I felt so hot and bothered to have him touching me in the middle of the club, how could I let him do that so easily?! I don't want to call it submission yet, like he said: he's not my Dom... but did I submit? Did I like it?
'You certainly liked it. You proved that all over his hand.' The throaty chuckle lofted through my mind right before my alarm went off. I quickly ended it and rolled out of bed.
'You know he probably thinks I'm a bottom right? Can you handle that again?' I snickered, remembering my most recent time trying to bottom. I had enjoyed it, thoroughly, but the beast in me wouldn't stop growling throughout. He actually started to scare my partner, which killed the mood.
'I can always handle it. It's not my fault the men you screw can't handle a bit of aggression. See if this one's willing to bottom back though.'
I chuckled at that, Head Master AK did not seem like the type. After performing my morning routine of shitting, showering, shaving, and brushing my teeth; I decided to get started on my designs. I was the lighting and sound designer for an up-and-coming playwright on his production of Fences. A good play, but human. I longed to produce for my own kind, but there weren't many Unique people who were famous. It made sense, it's hard for some people to suppress that side of themselves, and it's a risk of exposure most people don't take.
I left my bedroom and made my way to my office. I don't have a big house, it's homey. Having three other siblings made me enjoy my space but, I never minded sharing it. I have 4 bedrooms, one which I use as an office; and 4.5 baths. Two are attached: my room and the main guestroom. Two are hallway bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. Mostly everything is on one floor, the upper level, while the "Lion's Den/Man Cave" are below with the half bath. I have a little deck too! It's my favorite part, sometimes I go out there and sit on the side just breathing in the fresh air.
My office looked similar to the way my mind worked: disorganized. I had everything in controlled chaos though! My script and laptop were on my desk, need those handy often. The pictures of the set were hanging on my walls at precise locations where lighting fixtures could hit them. I also had a drawing board in front of my bookshelf housing past designs from University. There's even a second desktop in the far corner for my sound work. The lighting and sound designers must work with the set and costume designers closely for the show to be a hit. Of course while everyone needs to listen to the director, the designers are the real masterminds. The director keeps us aligned on a single vision, the designers brought that vision to life.
We haven't had our first meeting yet, but the set designer had already submitted their initial ideas through a Group Chat. Meaning I got some rough sets to throw lights on and create a storyboard. Group Chat was an app where people didn't have to give out their phone numbers or emails. We were given the link to join upon being hired by the Director. When the meeting comes around, we'll all be more concrete and hear feedback from the Director. I've read my script three times, although I've seen it before, and now I'm ready to create some concrete ideas with my laptop instead of my physical lights.
