Kryptonite

Karter

I got back to my place around noon, after stopping to get food- courtesy of my PA.

I dedicated all day to my lights and sounds. I haven't compiled a set Cue Sheet, but I didn't need that so soon. I got all my Pre-Show, Post-Show, and what I call "Almost Final" lights and sounds; eventually I'll start working in transition lights and weather sounds. Then, sometime in the next three weeks I'll begin hanging lights. I'll focus them when AK's set is built.

I mumbled while I worked. "Storyboards are done. I have the ground plan and Catwalks... I should probably start plotting so I know where to hang..."

A deep voice rang out behind me, "Right and don't forget to boot up those Source Fours and Audacity right?"

My brows furrowed. "What? I use Logic Pro... Boot up Source- wait what?" I looked up to see my idiot eldest brother leaning against the doorframe of my office. "Beau!!"

I leaped over my desk and tackled him. We wrestled around until I pinned him. "You know you don't know shit about Theater!" I grinned, and let him toss me over his head so he could pin me. Our relationship stays equal, we always keep the same points. We're the boys after all, it keeps the combativeness low.

We got up and dusted ourselves off. "Yea, but I know Audacity is sound stuff and Source 4s are light stuff so yknow."

I punched his side and grinned with pride when he instinctively blocked it. "At least you tried. Help yourself to the kitchen, I need to bury myself in my office."

He nodded and waved as he made his way to my kitchen. All my siblings have keys to my home because they started to miss me after University, and I wouldn't always have time to come to them. So I told them they could come by whenever, even if I'm not home. I've come home to Jolie asleep in my bed, several times.

Several hours later I smelled Italian coming from my kitchen. I looked up from my Vectorworks file and quickly saved it. When I ran into the kitchen I saw Beau scooping spaghetti on a plate, with Jolie talking beside him.

"So it gets easier when you're around it a lot. The hardest thing for modern people to accept is that female doesn't mean woman, same for male and man. That's confusing sex and gender." She smiled, taking the plate to the set table.

Beau nodded but his eyebrows were furrowed. "So your gender is different from your sex? That's why you stress that you're a woman and not a female?"

I heard her squeal. "Yes! You've got it! And you're both male and a man because you're..?"

I interrupted as I snatched the second plate. "Cis-gendered! Like me!" I kissed Beau's cheek and went to the table with Jolie. "Hey sis, when did you get here?"

She kissed my cheek and went to get drinks. "About an hour after B, came to sleep in your bed."

I chuckled when both my siblings re-emerged. "I assume Di is otherwise occupied?" I smirked.

Beau shook his head. "Do you know she's dating that boy? She told us yesterday."

I nodded, starting to dig in. "I found out yesterday. Also found out some interesting details about Bottom Line."

Beau started to choke on his lemonade. "Excuse me?"

I smirked at him, drawing Jolie's attention. "B, do you know who my boyfriend is?"

He stayed quiet for a moment, until his eyes widened with recognition. "Oh shit..."

"Yeeeaaaa oh shit! My boyfriend owns that BDSM club that tried to expand to France. I wonder why AK couldn't expand, do you know why dear Sister?" I smiled at her.
