I woke up the next morning and there was no one up. I was the only one. I assumed they were either still sleeping. I figured it was I heard Beau coming home last night piss drunk. He kept yelling and running into things. I heard a crash and a loud bang last night. It woke up. Then I heard Gina yelling. But after that the sleeping medication that I took kicked in.

I tide my soccer cleats tights and grabbed a couple of soccer balls that my brothers owned and my special one. I quickly wrote a note.

Whoever is up first,

I went to the soccer field to run around. Text me if you need me. Be back by 10.  -Dillion.

It was 8:00 and I ran out of the house with the bag of soccer balls on my back and a water bottle. The field was deserted because I assumed everyone around here was sleeping still. Most kids around our neighbor hood were either younger or around my age. But they were all stuck up and i didn’t like them. It was saturday and a lot of them slept in. I did too but I couldn’t. I had to get out and go do something.

I dumped the balls on the floor and lined them up. I left them there when I took a quick jog around the field and stretched out a bit. When I was ready I quick the line up soccer balls contentiously into the goal. Everyone perfectly went in.

After what seemed as 10 minutes, but was really and hour I heard voices behind me. I didn’t want to turn around so I continued to kick, harder and harder each time. Then I would retrieve the balls.

“Are you ever going to teach me that trick?” I heard. It was Jai. He was with Luke and they were both dressed in soccer clothes.

“You guys want to join me?” I asked passing them a ball.

“Unfortunately I have no choice. Jai dragged me along.” Luke said

“You wanted to come.” Jai said stealing the ball from Luke. Luke ran off after him until he tackled him to the ground.

“You guys can share. I have plenty.” I said passing another ball to him.

“Where did you find all these?” Luke asked.

“They were in the house. And this one is mine.” I said picking up the yellow and orange soccer ball with my good hand.

“Are you going to teach me the trick?” Jai asked.

“If you want. It’s going to take a long time to master.” I said.

“How long?”

“It took me over 2 years to become really good at it.”

“Can you teach it to me in an hour?” Jai asked.

“The basics. But you wont be good at it. And you’re going to fall a couple of times.”

“It’s worth it.” Jai said running up to me. Luke stood and watched.

“Okay the one thing you have to do it focus. You cannot loose sight of the ball. Every movement the opposing player makes you must watch.” I said starting to kick the ball rapidly between my feet. I watched as Jai’s eyes went back and forth until I kicked it passed him. “See you were not watching carefully.” I said as Luke retrieved the ball and passed it back.

“You were going to fast!” Jai complained.

“Do you think you can ask some to slow down in a game? get over it.” I said trapping the ball under my one foot. I watched Jai as he silently watched me. I didn’t move. I noticed he was becoming fidgety. Then as I expected he attempted to kick the ball out from under my feet but I pulled it back from him and he fell on the floor. This caused Luke to burst out with laughter.

“How the hell did you know I was going to do that?” Jai asked from the ground.

“I’m a good observer. I like to watch people.” I said honestly.

“That was great. I wish I got that on camera.” LUke said still laughing.

“Fuck you.” Jai said. I laughed to myself.

After an extra hour of trying to get Jai to learn the move he failed. He partially managed to some what watch me and watch the movement. But he couldn’t keep up with my speed and I just stole the ball from him.

“You did okay.” I said positively.

“Are you kidding me? He sucked.” Luke said carrying the soccer balls.

“No he wasn’t that bad. He just needs to practice.” I said as we left the field and went on our way back to the house.

“Are you going to talk to Beau?” Jai asked changing the subject.

“I have to. He is my brother.” I said.

“The question is do you want to?” Luke asked.

“Yeah I do. Me and Gina had a long talk about it last night. I know why Beau did what he did. He just wants to look out for me.”

“He doesn’t want anything to happen to you again. He blames himself for what happened to you.”

“I know and I hate that he does that. I need to let him know now to do that.” I said. “How drunk was he last night?”

“Really really bad. He ended up blacking out last night. That’s why you probably heard the loud crash. He fell into the book shelf. It went down hill.” Jai said.

“I don’t fell asleep after that.”

“Well MOm was furious. She doesn’t mind BEau drinking because he is of age. But hew as really bad last night. She had to drive him to the hospital to make sure that he didn’t need to get his stomach pumped from alcohol poisoning.”

“Was he okay?”

“Yeah he was fine. THey gave him some thing to help him sleep. They got home around 5 am this morning from the hospital. That’s why I’m assuming they might be sleeping when we get  home.” Jai said.

“That’s rough. I hope Gina is okay.”

“She will be fine. Mom is really strong. She’s been through a lot to make her the type of person she is now.” Luke said.

“YEah I got that.” I said putting my head down.

“What’s wrong?”

“I just wish that I didn’t miss out on a childhood like you guys had. You guys defiantly had fun and were always surrounded by family. “

“Almost ending up on the streets isn’t what I would call fun.” Jai said.

“But you always had each other. I grew up knowing I did not belong and an only child. It was boring.”

“But you got everything you wanted!” Luke said.

“SO? I would trade that for anything. I love my mom and dad more than anything. But I always wanted to grow up with a fun childhood. But the most fun I had was when the last Harry Potter book came out. And I camped out with my mom and dad.”

“You camped out for a book?”

“It was worth it. I finished  the entire thing in 24 hours. I only left my room to pee and eat.” I said.

“But you had more fun when you got older! You met One Direction.”

“YEah because of my best friend. She was the reason that I met them.” I said.

“Why don’t you fly her out here?” LUke suggested.

“I don’t know Luke. I haven’t spoken to her in a while. And she is in college now. It might be hard.”

“Well you wont know until you try.” LUke said before we reached the house. Mom was in the kitchen and Beau was still sleeping.
