Chapter 5

Today is Eleanor's sixth birthday and also the day of two important events according to the novel.

1) the Empress's death.
2) the day the emperor comes to know     about having a second child. Angelina.

So why in the world can someone tell me, these two guys are out here?

Rael thought annoyingly, frowning, while looking at the emperor and the crown prince beside him, standing in front of her.

She sighed irritatedly and greeted them like it meant nothing.

" Then, I'll be on my way. I have some work to attend to. Please excuse me." Rael started to get going but the emperor stopped her.

" You should come to the party. It's like an honor to the former Empress. " The emperor said with the slightest bit of pleading in his voice.

"Yeah, you should, Eleanor." The crown prince, Monte, jumped in too. Rael coldly looked at the pair and rejected them straight at the point.

" I would have, but I really don't like to be the center of attention. Because, what would the nobles even think? " Ah, the princess that was abandoned is useful again." Something like that, no? And I wonder who it is because of. " Rael glared at them, shooting daggers. Maybe she wouldn't have been so impolite to them, if not for gaining the past memories of the actual owner of this body. But with the treatment these fellows gave Eleanor, she was actually, really upset. And angry.

The emperor and crown prince looked rather embarrassed than angry at my insults. Which of course was obvious. Because whatever she said was the truth.

Rael turned around to leave but before heading back, she muttered loudly," my life was going good when you both were out of it."

On the way she silently began to wonder about the day this all started and the unexpected series that followed.

It's because of that stupid walk in the garden I had with Don when I was three.

On the day of the walk, Rael came across a big old banyan tree. It had a old swing attached to it's branch. Rael without thinking, sat there and started to swing by herself. She simultaneously closed her eyes and relaxed as the afternoon breeze and the smell of the grass flowed around. And like it was the most normal thing, a song came to her mind. Without realizing, she started to sing and literally laughed loudly thinking about some funny things at Korea.

When the song ended Rael opened her eyes like waking up from a long dream. There, mesmerized by her voice, were Don along with two other figures. Her eyes furrowed as she started to walk back to Don, clearly trying to see who these mysterious figures were. Then a bird suddenly flew down and Rael instinctively reached out her hand to let it rest out there. So cute, she wondered as she smiled warmly at the bird. For a while, she forgot that there were some strangers out there with Don, obviously trespassing the palace.

When she remembered, she clicked her tongue annoyingly.

Such a bad timing. These people sure know how to ruin a perfect moment.

Rael resumed her way to Don, and when she was near enough to see who they were, she stopped on her way. Shocked. Ruda??!!! Her eyes widened in surprise. For a moment they both just stared at each other, locked away in the heat of the moment. Then Rael guarded yp again and looked at the other unfamiliarly familiar person. My brother? Monte? She was clearly confused what in the world were these people doing here.

" Long time no see Rael." A voice inside Rael's head greeted her.
