Chapter 2: Arguments Amongst Allies

The next morning Annie found Quentin passed out on the couch. Annie shook his shoulder and he woke up. Annie was suited up in her Spiderling outfit and it was yellow and blue.

"You're going to recruit your Dad's team, wearing an X-Men colored suit?" Quentin asked and Annie frowned.

"Quentin  what happened to my other suits?" Annie asked and Quentin started thinking.

"They were destroyed." Quentin replied.

"Yeah, and how were they destroyed?" Annie gave Quentin a rough time but she wasn't joking in any way.

"Lets see um," Quentin sighed as he sat up and started thinking. "Your silver X-Men spider suit was destroyed in your fight with the Spider Vampire. Your original spider suit was completely ruined because the cosmic dust from Galactus stained it to an unrepairable state and clogged up the technology part of it." Quentin yawned. "Your Iron Spiderling suit was melted down by on overnight attack from the Skrulls, and I believe your grey, red, and silver Avengers Spiderling suit was destroyed in the fire Rachel caused." Quentin recalled and Annie nodded.

"Good boy." Annie said.

"I'm not a dog Annie." Quentin snapped as he rubbed his eyes and Annie pointed towards the door.

"Go get dressed. We have shit to do. Everyone else has already left." Annie drew the line and Quentin got up and left the room.....

Annie and Quentin walked up to The New Avengers headquarters. It was a very modern day mansion near the top of a rocky hill. Annie and Quentin went inside and found that no one was around like usual.

"They're waiting for you in the meeting room." A voice came from behind Annie and Annie turned and saw Logan and smiled.

"Hey Logan." Annie sighed and Logan smiled back.

"Hey kid." Logan said.

"How you doing Wolverine?" Quentin asked and Logan frowned at him and then looked back at Annie as he stood up.

"They're all in the meeting room. I'll take you guys there." Logan sighed.....

Annie walked up the stairs and into a massive meeting room and found Peter holding Ashley.

"MOMMY!" Ashley shouted and she jumped out of Peter's arms and ran across the table and jumped into Annie's arms. Annie caught her and held her as close to her as she could.

"Don't ever do that again little miss." Annie sighed and Ashley nodded and she looked to Annie and then she looked to Quentin and seemed a little sad.

"I'm sorry I wasn't good enough." Ashley said and Quentin looked heartbroken and he pulled Ashley into his arms and stood her up on the ground and got down on one knee as he moved a hair out of her face.

"That wasn't the reason I left. I left because I was scared of having that much responsibility. I was terrified that I would screw up being a parent because I never really had a supportive family until I met your mom. You are absolutely perfect. I acted like a complete idiot, and you have nothing to apologize for. I'm so sorry you had to find out the way you did." Quentin actually took responsibility and Annie was relieved. She thought he would never grow up.

"Are you and mommy gonna split up?" Ashley asked.

"As of right now, no.' Quentin replied and Ashley nodded.

"Ok, so what are we all here for?" Luke Cage asked as he seemed to not have much patience. Annie looked around at everyone and then Annie turned to Quentin.

"Go take Ash and get her something to eat please." Annie sighed and Quentin nodded and then left with Ashley. A few minutes later Annie took a deep breath in and looked around at everyone. "We are all in for a world of hurt if we don't band together now." Annie started her speech and Luke shook his head.
