Chapter 14

A few nights later...

Moonari was asleep in her room a few nights later when she suddenly started having a terrible nightmare. She was whimpering in her sleep and tossing and turning around on the bed. "No....no. Scarlett. Why did you have....why?" She muttered in her sleep, clearly terrified and having a nightmare.

Scarlett wakes up during that same night, she had a feeling within her body and conscious that Moonari wasn't okay. Quickly getting up she dashes to the room next door to ensure she was okay, "Moonie?" She inquired walking into the dark room before noticing her tossing and turning, "Oh Moonie! Your having another nightmare." She notes.

"No.....my fault......all my fault......" Moonari murmured, her eyes scrunching up as she continued to toss, turn, and squirm as if to try and get rid of the nightmare but it continued to follow her.

Scarlett makes her way over to Moonari before climbing in to embrace her sister, "Shhhh Moonari. I'm here. I'm here. Your having a nightmare, nothing is real. I'm here Moonari. Scarlett is here." She talks soothing words to her sister as she starts rubbing her back.

Moonari shoots awake and sits up, breathing heavily and shaking. "T-this is my fault. I-I shouldn't have...." She starts breathing hard and holds her hands close to her chest. "I-I thought that I was the cause of....oh Scarlett. It was all my fault."

Scarlett tilts her head and just pulls Moonari into a hug, "Hey Moonari. It is okay. What is your fault? I'm sure it isn't." She comforts curious to the dream she had as well.

"M-my nightmare." Moonari answered. "I-I watched you die on the mission and i-it was my fault for letting you go. I should have asked you to stay." She stuttered in explanation to Scarlett.

Scarlett sighs before hugging Moonari again, gently whispering over her shoulder, "I wouldn't allow anyone to take me down that easy Moonie. And it was my choice to go, not yours... don't ever think it's your fault." She pauses for a moment before sighing, "I'm here now. It was just a nightmare at least."

Moonari sniffed. "It still scared me Scar. I-I.....I don't know what I'd do without you here near me." She whispered and shuddered in the hug with her sister.

Scarlett closes her eyes before concentrating, gently emitting a warmth from her body, one that left a comforting feeling within anyone she hugs. "I'm sorry Moonie. I promise I won't leave you by choice again." She makes a promise with her sister.

Moonari takes some time to slow her breathing, feeling comforted by her sister's presence and her comforting powers. "P-please don't leave me again Scarlett. Please don't..." She begged softly to her, tears falling down her cheeks onto Scarlett's shoulders.

Scarlett pulls away from the hug to place a warm hand on Moonari's face, gently wiping away her tears. "Shhhh... I promise I won't. I realised myself I missed having you nearby and I hated being so far from you." She gently mentions, her eyes full of kindness.

Moonari nods and nods. "Please, stay with me tonight. I need you close sissy. I need you close so I can sleep properly." She begs softly. She didn't have any other needs or wants other than to just have Scarlett close for rest of the night.

Scarlett nods before pulling the blanket up. "Of course I'll stay the night, I wouldn't leave you at all tonight." She replies as she gestures for her to lay down again and she will cuddle in.

Moonari nods and lays back down but moved over so that Scarlett would have room to lay down with her. It was all she wanted and needed right at the moment, wrapping her arms around Scarlett as well so they could cuddle and she could be comforted.

Scarlett gently smiles before laying down also and pulling the blanket over them. "Goodnight Moonari." She comments before snuggling in and closing her eyes, keeping her comforting warmth emitted for a while just until she knows Moonari has fallen asleep.
