Steve Blade's POV:

Walking down a familiar street, hands forced deep into my pockets, I catch a flash of your ginger hair-

I yanked you back by your hair, slamming you against the wall

-out of the corner of my eye. You're with someone else. He's holding you in his arms, kissing your cheek-

I kissed your cheek, mainly to hide the blood trickling down the side of your face

-making you laugh. It's only been a month since you left me, but god your smile lights up the world. It's nothing like the smiles you forced around me-

"Tell me you love me," I growled. You smiled weakly.

"I-I love you."

-those were pained. It makes me sick to think someone else gets to see you like this. You were mine, and only mine. Then you had to go and fuck it all up, didn't you?

"Good luck finding someone else!" I screamed. "Nobody else will love you!"

He takes you into a bar, our bar. The one we used to go to. We'd drink until we could hardly see and it'd end up in a screaming match in the alleyway, but we still did it over and over again. Hoping something would change. At least, you hoped.

"I can't do this anymore," you said softly, pink suitcase in hand, "I'm leaving."

He says something to make you laugh. Your laugh, that wasn't something that happened with me. Instead there was silence, waiting for me to get angry at something. You were always so tense around me, you couldn't let loose like you are now. You look so beautiful.

"You're beautiful," I whispered, finger running lightly over the deep purple bruises, "so, so beautiful."

I know nobody could hurt you like I did, but nobody could love you like I do. I love you. I love the way the sun shines through your hair. I love the way purple looks against your porcelain skin. You're mine.

Everything in this damn house reminds me of you. That hole in the wall-

I slammed my fist through the wall, picturing your face

-taunts me, reminding me of what I had. I've been drinking. Empty bottles lie around the room. All I can think about is the guy you were with. You're not his. You're mine. The way he kisses you, touches you. That should be me. But I guess you chose him. He can't love you the way I do. I need you, Connor. I need you like I need oxygen, but you're blinded by him.

Your eye swelled shut, tears leaking from it

I knew one day you'd fall for someone else, you'd wrap them around your little finger. Your gaze always lingered on other men just a little too long.

"You were flirting with him."

"He's just a frie-"

"Bullshit!"

But I guess you're not mine anymore. But when he breaks your heart, like men do, I'll be waiting. You'll come crawling back. You always do.

"Steve..." Tears cascaded down your cheeks, that stupid pink suitcase in your hand.

"Connor."

"He dumped me."

I smiled.
