Chapter fifthteen: am i gonna die?

- y/n's pov-

I woke up this morning with a terrible headache and my whole body was burning. I slowly sat up while rubbing my eyes. I grabbed my phone and texted my mom that i'm wasn't going to school today. I also went to text Jack that there's no point in driving me to school since I wasn't going today. I laid back down on my bed trying to go back to sleep. But I couldn't because when I laid down, I felt like throwing up. So I sat up on my bed, snuggling my blanket.

A few moments later, my door creaked open. I lifted my head up to see Jack coming into the room with a glass of water in his hand. "Hey." Jack spoke while putting the glass of water on the table.

"h-hey." I mumbled. My head was so dizzy I felt faint.

"Are you okay?" Jack asked softly."You look awful."

"S-Shouldn't y-you be at s-school?"

"I'm not going today. i'm gonna take care of you." Jack smiled.

"no. y-you don't have to."

"It's okay I don't mind. By the way, your mom went to get you some medication." Jack says. Jack put his hand on my head to feel my temperature. "Is it too hot in here?" He asked while handing me the glass of water. I shook my head.

"I-I need to g-go t-to the b-bathroom." I spoke quietly while slowly getting up and dragging my foot to the bathroom. I could barely walk, I kept stumbling. So, Jack rushed over to help me. "I'll wait outside." Jack says after helping me get to the bathroom.

Once I made my way to the bathroom, I looked in the mirror to see my pale face and my droopy eyes. My stomach had a really uneasy feeling. I felt like throwing up. What in the world happened to me? I got really dizzy. The whole room started spinning like crazy, I eventually lost balance and collapsed down on the floor. "Y/n?" Jack says from outside the bathroom door. "Are you okay in there?"

I didn't have energy to respond. A few seconds later, Jack opens the bathroom door. "Y/N?" He worried,"Oh my god! Y/n are you okay?" Jack lifted me up and the next thing I knew, I was puking in the toliet. Jack quickly came to hold my hair back. The puking had finally stopped. "you good?" Jack asked.

I nod. "Jack I need to tell you-" I began but I started puking agian before I got to finish my sentence.

"It's ok." Jack says while rubbing my back,"You could tell me when you feel better."

I felt a bit better now but the room was still spinning. Jack walked me back to my room and I laid down on the bed while Jack went downstairs to refill my water. Minutes later, I fell asleep.

-General pov-
Jack came back from refilling water and found y/n fast asleep. He set the glass of water down on the table then walked towards y/n, and covered her with the blanket. Jack stood there staring at y/n for a few seconds, then he pulled his phone out of his pocket to text Olivia and Joshua know.

-Y/n's pov-
I was woken up by my mom shaking me to wake up while calling my name,"y/n. y/n get up."

I sat up and groaned, "What time is it?"

"it's nine."

"w-where's jack?"

"he's downstairs," she responded. "And here take these medicine." She says while handing me a bottle of medication.

"thanks."I say.

After I took my medicine, I headed downstairs to find Jack sitting on the couch, on his phone. "Y/n! You're awake!" Jack exclaims, "how are you feeling?"

"better." I respond.

"good. What happened?"

"what?" I asked confused.

"how'd you become so sick all of a sudden?"

"I'm not quite sure."

"oh ok. well um what do you want to do?"

"i don't know. do you want to play some Minecraft?"

"sure."I got up and went to get the xbox remote sitting by the TV and handed one to Jack. "Thanks," he said.

"Thank you for taking care of me." I said. "You really didn't have to."

Jack smiled. "I know. But I wanted to. I don't mind skipping a day of school for you."

Me and Jack played Minecraft for a few hours then after that we just talked and stuff. But luckily, Jack didn't ask what I was going to tell him earlier today.

-Time skips: 4;00pm-

"are you okay y/n?"Josh asks.

"i'm okay." I smiled while hugging him back.

"So what were you guys doing the whole day?"

"You know, I threw up, I got better, we talked, played some Minecraft and talked some more."

"You play Minecraft too?" Josh asks in excitement.

"Yeah." I say "You wanna play?"

"YESSS!" Josh exclaims while running to the living room. Jack followed behind him. I walked on over to Olivia,"Hey." I say.

"Hi!" She smiled. "Sooo how are you and Jack?"

"He's really nice especially how he ditched school to take care of me."

"Y/N!!!" Joshua yelled from the living room,"COME ON!!"

"COMING!!" I yelled back making my way to the living room. I sat down on the floor next to Josh while Jack and Olivia were on their phones, sitting on the couch.

Everyone all seemed to have a good time. Well almost everyone...Jack seemed in a bit of a mood ever since Josh and Olivia arrived. I asked Jack if he wanted to play but he just shook his head while still staring at his phone.

"Hey, we haven't hanged out much lately." Josh says, "You wanna go to the movies tonight?"

"Yeah of course!" I reply.

"It's probably gonna be just us two." Josh begans, "Because Liv hates horror movies and I doubt Jack likes it either,"

"Dude back off!" Jack snapped.

"what?" Josh questioned.

"y/n just got better today and now you're taking her to the movies?!"

"I'm fine Jack, don't worry."

"NO! W-What if something happens?!" Jack worried.

"Nothings going to happen and if something does happen, Josh will be there." I said.

But for some reason Jack seemed more upset. I looked up at him and I could see the anger in his eyes.

"you good?" Josh asked.

Jack didn't respond. He just stared at the ground with his fist clumped up.

"Hellooo?" Josh says waving his hand in front of Jack's face.

"FUCK OFF!" Jack snapped while shoving Josh away. It wasn't a light shove. It was more of a hard shove that almost caused Josh to fall on the ground. "DUDE! WHAT"S YOUR FUCKING PROBLEM?!" Josh yells.

"MY PROBLEM?" Jack says. "WHAT"S YOUR PROBLEM?!"

"Guys calm down!" Olivia said trying to distance them away from one another.

"Why are you so mad all of a sudden?"Josh asked.

"I DON"T KNOW! IT'S JUST THAT YOU KEEP ACTING LIKE SHE'S YOUR GIRLFRIEND WHEN SHE CLEARLY ISN'T! AND IF YOU LIKED HER SO MUCH WHY DON'T YOU JUST FUCKING TELL HER ALREADY!"

The whole room went quiet. Nobody spoke a word. A few seconds later, Jack stormed out of the front door. "I think i should-" I say pointing towards the front door. Olivia noded. I ran behind Jack to catch up with him before he left.
