"This is the story of how I died. Well, kind of. I actually... You know what you'll  find out soon. It's actually not even my story at all. This is the story of a girl named Cassandra.

Once upon a time, a single drop of moonlight fell from the sky. And from this moondrop, came a stone. This stone had the power to destroy, but mainly it could stop death.

Aha! Told you she'd be important.

You see, this woman, Gothel, had hidden the moonstone from the world and used to keep herself from dying.

In the Kingdom of Luna however, King Alexander and Queen Helen were expecting a baby. But the Queen got sick. Very sick. This is usually the time that people begin to look for a miracle, or in this case, a magic stone.

The power of the moonstone destroyed the queen's sickness, and a healthy baby girl with pale blue hair was born.

I'll give you a hint. That's Cassandra. Well, I kind of told you the answer but, anyway, moving on...

To comemorate her birth the king and queen launched a lantern into the sky.

For a moment everything was perfect. And then, that moment ended.

Gothel snuck into the palace and began to sing the Death Stopping Incantation.

'Moonlight, gleam and glow;
Let your power shine;
Make sure that death can't;
Claim this soul of mine;

Heal my dying soul;
Change the fate's design;
Save what will be lost;
Save this soul of mine;

This sould of mine;'

Gothel cut off a lock of hair, but it turned black and withered.

Seeing no other choice, Gothel took the baby and ran.

The king sent out many guards but none could find the lost princess.

Meanwhile, Gothel raised her daughter inside tower, determined not to lose her precious jewel.

'Save this soul of mine;
This sould of mine;'

'Why can't I go outside?'

'The outside world is a dangerous place. You are safe in here.

But the walls of the tower could not hide everything.

Cassandra still saw those lanterns. And those lanterns, would change her life."
