In the rest of the short time waiting for the entrance exams, Eraserhead had visisted the cafe on multiple occasions. Sometimes the hero would catch Izuku on break and they'd chat about insignificant topics.
The hero urged the green head to call him by his family name when he's in his civilian persona. Which, doesn't look far different than his actual "hero persona." Ah, the life of an underground hero.
On the day of the entrance exam, he didn't have to go to work. But that wouldn't stop him from leaving the house at the earliest hour possible to visit Kuro. The small cat always helped him calm down. So he visisted with the cat for an hour and left for UA.
From the cat cafe, UA was in walking distance. Well, close enough, so he skated there.
When he arrived, a throng of people have already accumulated at the gate. And the thought of interacting with stangers made him want to turn around and go back to the sweet comfort of the cafe.
Is it sad that the cafe feels more like family than his own mother? The whole staff doesn't treat him differently because of his lack of quirk. And the owner feels more like a mother than his own.....
Yeah it's sad.
He collected himself and deactivated the wheels, walking normally into the large gates. The whole place was daunting, and with his luck, he didn't pay attention to where he was stepping.
His foot caught on an uneven piece of sidewalk, and he intended to catch himself by changing his own footing. When he felt someone try to touch him, his hand shot up and snatched up a wrist in his palm.
Thankfully he was able to change his footing quickly and stood back straight to stare at the person who tried to touch him. He was taller than the person, a female with bobbed brown hair. There was pads on the tips of her fingers like cat paws.
Viridian specs held a soft glare before he left to of the wrist, leaving the girl stunned as he walked away. That whole interaction just made him want to get this over with.
The written exam came first, and he was sat next to a male with a bird head. He looked interesting per se, but he ignored it and started the test.
Finishing as one of the first ones, he double checked his answers before turning in the test. He had to sit and wait, so he took out his phone and chatted with Mei, who was also done with hero own written exam.
Her practical was building something within a specific time limit and having a working item. She also had to bring in a support item that she made. The one she brought was the earpiece and a copy of his boa staff. She wanted to make sure she was prepared.
After she left to her own practical, the quiet class was given their exam cards and escorted to the auditorium for the explaination.
"Welcome one and all to my live show!" It was Present Mic, "Everybody say heeeey!"
Poor soul. His enthusiasm was countered with silence over the entire room.
"I've got shivers down my spine too listeners!!! All right examinees! I'm going to give you the low-down on how this'll go" his right arm raised up high and pointed to the crowd, "are you ready?!"
Silence.
"Now pay close attention listeners! We'll be testing your mettle by running a ten-minute practice run at our replica city districts" a screen showed a simplified bubble map, showing a number of city scape letters.
"You can take whatever you like! Everybody gather at the designated meeting area after the presentation, ya dig?" He was ignored as people checked over their examinee card, most people around him got different sections.
Attention was back to Present Mic as he began to explain the whole practical. But before he could talk anymore, he was interrupted by a rather loud student with glasses and navy blue hair.
He berrated the voice hero for not mentioning the fourth bot, and then went on about how it was disgraceful. The male continued on his tangent for a good couple minutes longer before stopping, allowing Present Mic to explain the rest of the way.
Once the explaination was done, Izuku calmly walked over to his testing site. Well, the bus to his testing site. He hated the amount of people on the bus, and refused to have anyone sit next to him. That would be too much for him, they would probably ask questions and learn that he's quirkless, then try to beat him up.
He didn't want that. Just a calm unbiased test. Hopefully unbiased.
The gate to his testing site was daunting, but he moved the closest, there were no count downs in a battle. So he'll go through when the gate opens.
It didn't take long for the gate to start opening, he stomped one of his feet three times, wheels sprouting from the bottom of his shoes. With that, he sped of, grabbing his staff from his pocket.
With a click of a button, the boa staff extended to its full length. He pressed another button, and blades sprouted from each side. His face gained a manic grin.
This was going to be so much fun.
And a three pointer robot locked onto him, red eyes glowing as it drones on. He shot past the robot and slashed at what looked to be a week spot.
The blade slipped through the metal like butter, and he felt so satisfied by the feeling. It seemed these bots were created to shut down once any major wire is cut. That's good to see, means he doesn't have to worry about breaking his weapon.
Other examinees started to rush into the fake city, adamant on proving theirselves. The words of Present Mic as he "scolded" them was the same thing he was thinking.
A real battle doesn't have a count down.
