The next day saw Taehyung and Jeongguk walking to school...Taehyung had wanted to stay home with his family and talk more, but they persuaded him to go, stating he needed a break from the emotions of the night before.
Taehyung had argued that it was pointless as he wouldn't be able to concentrate but one look at Jeongguk agreeing with them made his mind up.
They were walking along the high street on their way to the small café they had visited before for a breakfast muffin when Taehyung turned to Jeongguk.
"I think I want to find my father...I need to confront him..."
Jeongguk turned to him, worry crossing his face.
"You heard Heros Tae' he abused your mom, what if he hurts you too? He may have killed them...it's too dangerous."
Taehyung stopped walking and turned his body fully to the younger boy.
"Thank you for caring...but this is something I need to do...I want answers...and an explanation...and I can't get that here...he is the only point of call for what I need to know."
"Which is what Tae'? why is this so important to you...he was a thug who abused the woman he was supposed to love...his mate...and the mother of their only child...why do you need to see him...why?" Jeongguk answered his breathing stressed and his face concerned.
Taehyung eyed him, taken back at his impassioned plea, but his mind was made up, he just hoped Jeongguk would eventually forgive him for leaving him again.
"'Gguk, this is something that can't be put off...I've lived many years thinking my parents died in the deep...if there is another reason other than that I need to know...I'm sorry."
Jeongguk felt bad...he had no right to stop him from finding the truth...but he was scared he would never see him again, and that thought hurt him deeply.
He dropped his head and Taehyung felt his fear, he lifted his chin with his finger and looked into his eyes.
"I love that you care, and are worried about me, but I have to go 'Gguk...I don't know how long I'll be gone...or even if I'll find him, but I need to do this...I need to know what happened to them."
Jeongguk resigned himself to Taehyung's made up mind and wrapped his arms around his slim waist, holding him tight. He was fighting tears...didn't want to cry again in front of this man...
"When will you go?" He asked quietly, but Taehyung heard him clearly.
"I was thinking today...the quicker I go the sooner I can return to you."
"Today? Why so soon...you only just came home?"
"I know that...but I need to find him as soon as possible, and staying here isn't going to achieve that."
Jungkook sighed and looked down, he remained that way for a while and Tae' was beginning to get worried.
'Gguk..."
"...maybe we should call it a day...I don't want to pine for you Tae'...it hurts my heart to do so."
Tae' placed his hands on his face.
"Are you saying this to keep me from leaving?"
Jeongguk shook his head.
"No...I won't keep you from this...but I also won't spend my life waiting...I have my own goals and a future to plan for...Go...and I hope you find what you are looking for...I love you Tae' but this is goodbye."
He walked away from him his heart aching and hurting with every step...he prayed Tae' wouldn't follow him, wouldn't try and stop him...he wasn't sure he would be able to keep his cool if he did so.
