Chapter Eight.

Jeongguk was released from the hospital two days later, Taehyung hadn't wanted to leave his side but Jeongguk had insisted he go to school and catch up with the work he had missed, Taehyung had pouted and moaned that he would miss him, but the younger had insisted.

Taehyung had also gone to each of Jeongguk's teachers and got the work he had missed, and his work for the next two weeks he would be off school for.

He would work on it while waiting for his boyfriend to return to him, he had begged his mom to allow him to stay with Taehyung, but she had flat out refused so Taehyung would go straight to his after classes.

This one day Taehyung was leaving class when he heard something, it was singing and it drew him towards it, he followed the sound and it led him to the beach, he followed his ears and realised it was coming from the water...curious he rushed to his hiding place and stripped bare, then he rushed to the water and dived in.

He swam down and looked around him, he could still hear it and it was alluring, as he swam he could hear the singing getting louder and as he turned the corner of an underwater reef he saw her...she was beautiful with long blond hair just like his own, and she swam in ways he had imagined other mermaids would swim.

He stopped and watched her, fascinated by seeing another of his kind after so many years. She turned and saw him, her lips grew into a smile as she swam towards him and ran her hands around his chest and back as she swam around him, she continued to sing and he watched her, she swam in front of him and moved her body close to his, her mouth went towards his own, intending to kiss him.

He suddenly moved back as an image of Jeongguk flashed through his mind, she looked at him curiously. He shook his head and swam away...she followed, he rushed to the surface and swam to his area, where his hiding place was and slithered out of the water, he prayed his legs would return before she found him.

He thought back to how her singing drew him to her, was this a mermaid thing, he had no idea, but her singing was beautiful.

His legs slowly began to appear as they dried in the hot sun and he jumped up and rushed to his hiding place, dressing quickly he left his small cave and once he climbed out he came face to face with the girl, standing naked in front of his hidey-hole.

"Who are you?" He asked her.

She looked at him, her head on one side.

"My name is Sirena, what's yours?"

Taehyung was shocked, she had spoken to him in his head, her lips still...was this a way Merpeople communicated? He vaguely remembered how his parents would look at each other often but wouldn't speak.

"I'm Taehyung..."

"In your mind Taehyung." She mentally spoke to him.

"Where are you from?" He thought, wondering if she heard him.

She smiled...

"I'm from far away, I sensed you and came looking for my new mate."

"Mate?" He said, looking at her shocked. She nodded.

"I'm not available, sorry for your wasted trip." He said to her, she frowned.

"But you are my mate Taehyung."

"No, I have a boyfriend."

"A boy? You are mating with a boy...how are you to continue our kind with a boy?" She thought allowing him to hear her.

"I...I never thought about that, but I'm not concerned, you should go back to where you came from, and find another mate."

She dropped her head, her long hair falling over her breast.
