Most of my childhood life was a blur until I entered the orphanage, I remember like it was yesterday when me, Catra, and Adora were brought in on the same day...
"Hi, your (Y/N) right? I'm Adora and that's Catra"
I saw the blond girl point at a girl that was half cat
"Kitty" I walked over to her and pet her fur
"Agh, Adora get her off"
I felt being pulled off by the blonde and I frowned
"Sorry about that, Catra is picky about people" She stuck her tongue out at us and Adora dragged me over to some toys
"It's okay"
Every day was like this, I would try to get Catra to like me and Adora would always pull me off of her or stop me from trying. Eventually, Catra got tolerant of me and we all played together for once, those days were great.
"(Y/N) Stop running!"
I weaved around Catra as she tried to pounce on me to tag me and then ran to the safe spot we designated while Adora, who had already been there for a minute, then had to run out and go deal with Catra herself
"Come on Catra keep up~!"
Catra had growled and pounced on Adora almost immediately
"Ha! got you"
"Darnit" They laughed as I chuckle at the safe spot watching them
Something had changed in Catra though, over the years, I don't know if it was because later on Adora and I started hanging out more without her or if something had happened between them. Catra started to not like me more than we had first met, maybe even had a hatred towards me. She started to bully me with some of the orphanage kids when I was 8.
"Ow!" Lonnie had pushed me down and her and Catra started to laugh at me
"What? Can't take one little fall Princess?"
I rubbed my elbows as Adora came running over to help me up and off the floor while glaring at Lonnie and Catra
"Why did you guys do that, that was so mean"
"She's a prissy descendant of a princess Adora, she has fire powers"
"Woah Really?! Show me show me"
Adora had stars in her eyes as I sat on the floor and made a flame in my hands and she awed at it
"Oh Come on Adora, It's just fire it's not even that cool" Catra had pushed me to the side and the flame dispersed and I frowned at her
"It is cool! You guys need to be nicer"
Adora had always stood up for me and that day was no different. I looked up to her as she was such a great role model and I always dreamed to be like Adora. She's so Brave, Confident, and doesn't let anyone or anything get in her way. Everything was going great until a year later when a woman came into the orphanage
"Hello Madam, are you here to adopt a child?"
"I'm here to adopt two of them actually, I heard great things about a Catra and an Adora here"
Adora and I looked around the corner to see the woman talking about them, she was a strange lady with a scar over her mouth as she was talking to Ms. Graybrid about adopting them
"What are you guys snooping on"
"Ah Catra!" Adora flinched in her spot as I looked over at Catra staring at us
