Picture: Windsor LakeRay kept staring at me. With this stupid smirk on his face as he continued to eat his waffle and I hated it. Every second of it. Girls usually would go crazy for this stupid smirk on his face right now.
I know from experience. But right now, all I wanted to do was to smack it off. I don't know why he keeps doing it and frankly it wouldn't surprise me if he had no reason. But two can play at that game.
I stared at him. I stared at him from across the table with a raised eyebrow as he took a bite out of his bacon. But all that did was make his smirk grow bigger. I rolled my eyes and mouthed the word 'What' to him. But apparently I gave off the wrong signal, because he sent me a wink. How is that supposed to answer my question?I picked up my plate and empty cup and took it over to the sink. Ray was washing his plate because Aunt Cassie said, and I quote "Everyone is washing their plate and will not step out of this house until they do."
"Hey bug- eyed freak, want to tell me why you couldn't focus on your own breakfast this morning?" I ask Ray as I cross my arms.
"Well I don't think I want to answer your question with mean name calling like that." he answers innocently.
Ray Prescott was anything but innocent. Take notes.
"Fine, can I ask why you couldn't eat your breakfast without staring like a creep?"
"You know, I don't really like being called a creep. It kinda just ruins my vibe you know. Not very sexy, like me." he answers.
"Oh I agree, staring like a creep is not sexy at all. Which is why it came from you. So cut the crap."
He smirks. Again. Which means nothing good is coming. He grabs the kitchen hand towel and dries his hands. He takes a few steps forward and places his lips no further than a centimeter away from my ear.
I take a small inhale.
Sweet cheese and crackers god dammit.
"Look babe, all I remember was you staring at me. And quite honestly, I felt very uncomfortable. Next time just eat your breakfast like a normal girl okay?"
And with that he places back the hand towel and walks back over the the dinning room.
The nerve of this cocky bastard."Remember tonight is night. The legendary Windsor Lake skinny dip." Ty reminds Alex and I as he, Ray and Levi begin to walk out the door.
"Of course, how could we forget, we live for this." Alex sarcastically remarks.
"I know you do Alex." Ty replies happily, clearly not being able to notice her sarcasm.
She rolls her eyes playfully at him.
Ok so he's not the brightest in the pack but he definitely brings, brings- you know what let
me finish this sentence later.
"We'll be there." I say. "Who gives up the opportunity on swimming naked?" I say sarcasm slipping through my sentence.
"Exactly my thoughts! It's gonna be great." Ty answers, once aging disregarding the sarcasm.
Levi stifles a laugh in the back and so does everyone else.
"We'll see you guys later then." Levi speaks up.
We wave a goodbye to them as they begin to walk.
Alex closes the door and looks over to me.
"At least he's hot right?"
Instantly knowing she's referring to Ty, I chuckle.
"And who knows how long that's going to last." I mumble over playfully which earns a chuckle from her. It's officially midnight. The streets are completely dark except for the small dim lighting hovering over the roads caused by the lamp posts. I pop open the window as quietly as possible. Making no hearable sound that could wake up Aunt Cassie or Hazel.
"You ready?" I whisper over to Alex.
"Ready." She confirms.
I slip out of the window onto the soft grass outside. Alex follows quickly behind. She turns around to close the window and gives me a thumbs up when she's done.
We begin walking over to the side of the house and grab the two bikes we left out earlier. The lake is centered approximately in middle of town which adds up to about 5 minutes to get there. We leave our bikes leaning on a rock close by.
"Guess we got here late." Alex says.
Ty didn't underuse the word Legendary. Because this tradition was legendary. Windsor Lake itself was legendary. It was probably the most beautiful thing here in Windsor, only great thing this small town carried.
I look over to Alex and smile.
The lake was already filled with bodies and someone had already built a campfire close by. Tiki torches were set up around the lake to give off just enough light to make out a shimmer in the water, but not enough to give it a clear view. Every high school student was here tonight. How every kid manages to sneak out without the parents finding out, amazes me. But they're here every year. This same day, at this same hour.
Of course half their high school ends up grounded the next day, but that doesn't stop anybody.
"Did I miss this lake." I grin over to Alex.
We began walking down to the campfire. We easily spotted Levi making out with some redhead in some tight white shorts and a blue top.
"Watch this." Alex whispers over to me.
She walks up to Levi and I follow close behind.
"Hey babe- Oh my god! What is going on?!"
"Why are you making out with my boyfriend?!"
Alex begins to panic, or at least pretends to. I tighten my lips together to hold the laugh that's threatening to come out.
Levi and the redhead pull apart from the violent make out, which if I weren't trying to hold in a laugh at the moment, i'd definitely be worried about it.
"How could you Levi! And you!-" Alex starts, pointing a finger at the innocent redhead.
"Who are you?!" Alex begins to squeal.
At this point she's turned a couple of heads from a few random kids, and I have to place my hand over my mouth to stop me from bursting out laughing at the embarrassing scene in front of me.
The redheads face has a combination of emotions. Shock, anger, and embarrassment.
Poor girl.
"Okay you're crazy." The redhead begins to speak. Looking at Alex. She then turns to Levi and backs away from him.
"And you, you never said you had a girlfriend!"
Levi's face was written in shock and confusion. Priceless.
"No-no what? No she's just a friend." Levi defends quickly.
"Ugh you're a pig." The redhead says turning around and walking away from Levi.
"No wait!" Levi shouts out to her. Still trying to comprehend the situation.
I move my hand away and let out the fit of laughter that was dying to come out. Alex joins me and Levi turns to look at us.
"Great, thanks for ruining my make-out sesh." Levi tells us with the most serious face and rolls his eyes.
"Um, do I not get an apology for your cheating? You're a horrible boyfriend." Alex uses a higher pitched voice and puts her hands on her hips.
Levi just stares at her blankly and raises his hand to flick her off.
"Ouch." Alex playfully winces.
"Oh come on Levi, we all know you can just find yourself another. You know damn well you don't make-out with one girl the whole night." I say, referring to other nights, or any other day in general.
He then began to form a smile.
"Well you are correct about that." He says leaning back on a large rock and placing both arms behind his head.
I roll my eyes at him.
"Ugh you're a pig." I say, mimicking the redhead from before.
There was no bigger womanizers in this town than Ray, Levi, and Ty. They were walking whores with no shame. They knew it, we all knew it. You got STDS? Easy investigation. Which one of the three were you recently with? Boom, puzzle solved, case closed.
"Well who doesn't love themselves some bacon." Levi replies. Grinning with all his glory.
"Uhh, I think I might go vegetarian for a while." I say as I place on a disgusted face.
