CHAPTER 2: NATIONAL TEAM

Night after the matchday;

Ryan just arrived at his place where he suddenly got a phone call from Chelsea's player; Christian Pulisic. Ryan and Pulisic became friends since their time in USA U17 squad.

Ryan: Hello. Is this the most expensive American player?

Pulisic: Yes. Is this the striker of a team that just relegated to the Championship even though he scored 16 goals in the league?

Ryan: Sorry. It's wrong number.

Pulisic: Fuck off, bro. How you're doing?

Ryan: Well, I'm good. What about you?

Pulisic: I'm good too.

Ryan: So, why did you call all of sudden? Are going to ask me to be your best man on your wedding?

Pulisic: You're crazy as usual aren't you, bro? I heard that you was chosen for the US National team for Gold Cup this year.

Ryan: That's true. Why?

Pulisic: Want to fly to LA together? We will joined the team after their match against England after all.

Ryan: Well, I don't know if I want to go or not.

Pulisic: What do you mean by that?

Ryan: Well, you see. I was born in Milan while my mom is half Brazilian. So, I'm elidgible to play for Brazil and Italy too.

Pulisic: Why, did Brazil or Italy offering you to play for them too?

Ryan: Not yet. But still. I'm doing quite well in the league. So, I might have chance to play with them. So, I don't know which nation that I want to represent.

Pulisic: But, you have represent USA in U17 World Cup and 2015 Olympic Qualifying Championship though. Why all of sudden you're thinking about playing for Brazil or Italy?

Ryan: Well, you know very well about what happen to me in USA, right?

Pulisic: Yes, I know that very well. Especially this training camp is a joint camp with the women's team. You might meet up your sister there, right?

Ryan: Yes. I don't know how must I reacted if I ever come across her. Seriously, it gave me a lot of thought to consider which nation I want to play with.

Pulisic: Okay, then. Never mind. Just take your time to think about it then.

Ryan: Thanks for understanding me, bro.

Pulisic: No problem. We had known each other since in the U17 World Cup after all. By the way, I need to go now. Call me if you already decided which nation to play.

Ryan: Okay. Goodbye.

Pulisic: Bye.

Then, they hung up.

Ryan then checked on his email. He then saw that he just get an email from CBF and FIGC. As he open it up, he read it carefully. It's an email that told him that he was called up for Brazil National Team for 2019 Copa America while Italy needs him for the Euro 2020 Qualifying round.

"All of sudden, I got 3 calls up for the national team. Now, it's getting harder" mumbled Ryan alone.

"Whatever. I'll decide it later on" mumbled Ryan again. Then, suddenly, he got a phone call from another his former teammate in the USA U17; Reggie Cannon.

Ryan: Hello.

Cannon: Hello, dude. How you're doing?

Ryan: I'm good. What about you??
