When you woke up the next morning because your phone was ringing like crazy, you wanted to turn back to Spinel and go back to sleep. But without success, because after two minutes, your phone rings like crazy again and Spinel also woke up from it. "Hello?" you ask annoyed. "Hello, I just wanted to remind you that you have two days left." You recognize your boss' voice. "Eh, what? I thought, three." "Change of plans. Get over it. I hope the plan works out. Or you know what will happen if you don't-" "Uh, yeah, yeah, I got it covered. I gotta go. Bye." And you hang up. Oh, no. By now you don't want to stick to the plan at all. Your boss is ruining everything. And you forgot all about your job. "Was that your boss?" "That's right," you say, and you get up out of bed to pick out other clothes. "What kind of job do you have here?" "Oh, nothing." You answer briefly and disappear into the bathroom. You don't care about the money. And your job, too. You just want to live a normal life. But your father is still a problem. You only want to see him happy once, but he makes it especially hard for you, so you hoped you could help him to be happier with the money. That maybe he could start therapy to get his life back on track. But your boss tricked you and now you have to pick a side. Continue the job for your father or quit the job and choose Spinel and the others here in Beach City. Because they all mean so much to you. You never had real friends like these. And Spinel, who means so much to you, you would lose. Besides, you can always find another job. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. But you didn't want to deal with it today and just do something to distract yourself. You had gotten yourself thoughtfully ready and left the bathroom. "Are you okay?" asks the pink gem and you nod: "Sure, I'm just a morning grump, that's all." "Oh, okay!" You go into the small kitchen of your hotel room. You remember how well your then only best friend could bake. She was talented. Oh, great. And what do you have to show for it? Sandwiches. You're sighing in frustration. You couldn't even blame someone for not being able to cook or bake. You look around the kitchen, and your eyes are stuck on the stove. Who said you couldn't start baking, too? "It can't be that difficult." You go into the living room and turn on your laptop. "What are you doing?" Spinel asks you curiously and looks over your shoulder. "I thought we could bake something. Maybe I find a recipe." "Yeah, good idea." It takes you half an hour to find a recipe that you think is neither too easy nor too hard. And that you have all the ingredients for. You go back to the kitchen and take the laptop with you. There, you both get to work. Half an hour later it ended with a flour battle. You two are dusted with flour. It started with you trying to knock off your hands that were full of flour and the flour suddenly spread in the air and came into Spinel's face. Then she threw flour at you. And that went on and on until you both looked like snowmen. Then you have concentrated on baking again and successfully made a mass of cookies and butter and pressed it onto the bottom of the baking tray. However, your baking attempt still threatened to fail. After several failed attempts, you had succeeded in separating the egg yolk from the egg white. But together with your favorite gem, everything works, and you have successfully put the cookies in the oven for an hour. You wanna put away some dishes. So when you want to go in this direction, you suddenly have to slip on the flour that had just landed on the floor during the flour battle and then even bump into Spinel that falls to the floor with you. Your faces meet so that you look deep into each other's eyes. For a moment, nothing really mattered. You only thought about her. Her beautiful pink eyes and the great moments you've had so far. Spinel was special for you. She definitely means more than just a best friend. You realize you've fallen in love with her. But you're sure she probably only feels friendship. Frustrated at this thought, you stand up from her. "I'm sorry. Silly me." "It's okay." She says and gets up too. "But hey, this way I could see your beautiful (y/e/c) eyes," she adds and you blush again and smile. "And I yours." "Hehe, you make me feel different from a friendship," she says blushing and looks down at the floor. "Hey, that's okay. Me too, actually." "Really?" she asks. "Yeah." you say with a smile. "Funny, what's that?" "I think I know the answer." And you grind your teeth nervously. "Will you tell me?" "I can show you." Spinel looks at you expectantly. So you come closer and closer. Meanwhile, you wonder if this is right and how she will react. You're afraid she means something else and rejects you. But you gather your courage and try to kiss her. So you get closer and closer to her face. Already the tips of your noses have touched each other. But before your lips can touch, the alarm clock sounds that the cookies are ready. You get a fright and Spinel laughs. "Oh, my goodness," you say, and you laugh at yourself. You go to the oven and you take out the cookies you just baked. But still, you're depressed that kissing her didn't work. But it's not that bad, who knows how she might have reacted. You're sure you'll find another time.
